Chelsea bid £35m for Torres. LFC reject.
Torres hands in a transfer request 3 days before transfer window shuts. Request rejected
Torres is declared traitor by LFC fans (well at least on 6CM).
Torres coming back from holiday in Spain today.
Looks like either LFC gets an improved bid (~£50m) or Torres stays.

It's just people venting. Hatred, denial, anger, sadness, conspiracy theories, how much money we should accept, what we should do to Torres, what John Terry should do to his wife, how we should spend the money we get for him etc, with a short discussion of Scandinavian handball on the side. Surprisingly little porn or racism, but otherwise just a normal 6CM thread.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I don't know what to think, I'd like to hear what he has to say and see what develops with regard to him training and speaking to the club this afternoon.

It's all a bit meh, he's a class player, but £50m or thereabouts is alot of money which could significantly transform the team. The big worry is that we now won't have the time to spend it properly, and if we do spend it could be panicked. I just want it sorted one way or another. The last thing we need is this dragging on until the XIth hour.

And another thing, some seem prepared to write this season off. We're 7th FFS. I know we've had a shit few months but European football, even the Europa, is paramount for next season. We've already fallen behind, we don't need to be going through the same shit in 6 months with the likes of Reina and Meireles.

Stop being so fucking defeatest, there's alot left to play for, there always is. Pride for one thing.

I think our new raison d'etre for this season has to be to try and finish above Chelsea, or at least outscore them pointswise from here on in. That'd raise our spirits, keep Kenny in a job, make us a more attractive destination in the summer, and be a big fuck-you to Torres.

The point, that you missed, was that not much else has happened, beyond what we know already.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I'm more pissed off that Chelsea will be getting a class player, than the fact that he's going. Regardless of our standing this season, I still see them as one of our rivals, and we'll be strengthening them. They might need to rebuild, but this will go along way to beginning that.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

How would people feel about Torres if he goes to chelsea and scores the winning goal which makes chelsea win the title just ahead of utd, thus still keeping us equal on titles??

Im pissed that he has disrespected us like this, if he went in the summer no hard feelings but 3 days before is a disgrace.

Either way, sell him and buy Llorente, A.Young and Adam and our team would already be much better

Nothing would surprise me with Torres saga. Gerrard/Rooney were 'on the brink' before staying. Hard to see happening but not impossible #lfc

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

If indeed Torres stays & says it was all his agents fault, surely he should grass them for tapping him up?

That'd be a helluva silver lining on this shitty cloud.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

He was meant to be in a meeting with club officials until 2 after which he was due to join training session.

If they had convinced him to change his mind I'd imagine we would have had a statement by now or very soon. Seriously doubt it though

If it was his agent, he should have sacked the cnut on the spot when he found out.

I thought I would hate to see Torres wearing blue playing against us next week, then I realised how much more I would hate to see him playing for us yet wishing he was playing for them.

I really hope the deals sorted and he goes
[/quote]

I would hope that the club only agree to let him go now if there is a binding agreement that Torres cannot play against us in the forthcoming match. I don't know if it's possible to have something constructed that is legally binding, however. The legal eagles on this site can advise on that, hopefully.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I want Torres out.

There's no way back for him now as far as I'm concerned. We just need to make sure we get what we want, not what we wants. Preferably an auction in the summer resulting in him leaving England and us getting lots of moolah.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Andrew_Heaton : Be interesting to see whether Torres determination is as strong now he's back in Liverpool & away from his 'advisors'

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Who the fuck is Andrew Heaton?

And why are you posting his yammerings on here?

I reckon the situation would still be just about rescuable for him IF he were to make a detailed public apology for his behaviour. I don't think his current advisers would let him do that, so it would mean getting rid of them, and that's where the idea falls down, because if he hasn't done that by now I don't think he's going to.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

How about we accept the £40m from Chelsea.... Post them Torres right leg.... And inform them another £15m and they can have the rest of him.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

It's only a matter of time before a fan actually DOES hurt or murder a player because of this kind of thing.
