If don't get anyone in before the window closes we're going to struggle.

Kuyt upfront? Hmmmm

Oh, and PH. I'd rather sell Torres to Barca/Juve for 40 mill in the summer window than for 50 to Chelsea.
fair enough. not sure it's realistic though. can barca afford even £40m? i doubt torres would go to juventus.

inter milan might be a distant possibility i suppose.

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

disappointed about the whole situation, not really that angry >🙁

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Someone on the Rattle says that City have entered the frame with a bid.

Mancini can then play 3-2-5 at home...

Juve? When did they enter the picture? I thought they were too broke to bid for Torres. They'll probably have no money left after we sell them Aquilani.

If we wait until the summer and/or we simply can't stand the idea of selling to the chav cunts, Torres' most likely destination will be Barca or Man City, surely. I think those are the only two clubs outside of the prem that could afford him.

Niang is a quick, hard-working striker, and not untalented, but he does tend to miss quite a lot of chances. If we were after a short-term option, I'd much rather get Forlan.
Forlan would cost a fortune, & is about as far away from FSG's buying strategy as it's possible to be.

Also, his time in the Premiership was hardly a success, esp if you ignore Dudek's contributions!

When Rush left we didn't give Aldo his number nine shirt. Aldo wore 8 and when Rush came back his old number was waiting for him.

He's the same age as Niang, and was rumoured to be available for £9m - not much more than Niang would cost. He'd have higher wages, but that's because he's a much better player. And best of all, we know he and Forlan play well together.

I'm not arguing against it mate, more playing devils advocate. I was under the impression Forlan would cost a lot more than that also.

i'd take forlan at that price, he'd give us a year or 2 to find a really ideal replacement.

Why would he talk to officials then train?

Because he's contractually obliged to ?

Forlan is an ex-united cunt who can fuck off.

And anelka is shit these days.
Yep. Rather wait to spend the money than panic. Forlan may not be so bad on a loaner though

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I'm with Sunny on this, we cant waste the money, that's paramount. Letsface it, it's massively unlikely we'll get into Europe, so scrambling to sign any transfer & paying over the odds wont help IMO.

Better would be go after real targets with low bids, unsettle them & in not going any higher if rejected send out the sign that we wont pay over the odds in the summer with longer to get our targets.

Well yes.... Obviously. But i'd have thought he wouldnt turn up after the cuntish way he has already acted.... What difference would it make to him if he went or not?

No significance to Torres not at training this morning. Was given time off last week & will be training at LFC as planned in later session
