Torres gone. Scum gone to more scum

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

You are all forgetting, he said that when HodgePodge was manager and wasn't getting any service and the team was playing Shite.

Now we have Kenny and are playing to Torres strength's.

I read that as "unless the club decides to sell me"
I read it as lets see what the club does in terms of improvement and attracting higher calibre players.

£50m would be tempting to be fair. Maybe £60m....
I love Torres but £50 Million would be stupid to turn down.
My fear is that even with that sum we wouldn't be able to find a suitable replacement for Torres.
I figure that if we ask Bilbao for Llorrente they'll say £50 Million. And then we're fucked.

Funny imagine replacing Fernando Torres with Fernando Torres Llorrente. Give him the number 9 and we wouldn't even have to change the song.

No, I don't think so.

Sell him for £50mil, sign Suarez for about £20mil ish, get Young and Adam for the other £30mil. I won't be shedding any tears.

That would be a disaster.

Torres- brilliant, prolific striker that burst on the scene at age 17 and played regularly from that early age.

can anyone think of players with similar profiles? How were they in their late twenties?

Given that risk, 50m isn't to be sniffed at

Totti springs to mind, he also became captain of his home-town club at a stupidly early age.

Owen, Fowler

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

We have just 3 world class players, selling any 1 of those 3 would be a mistake, barring a ludicrous sum being involved, & even then it certainly wouldn't be the best thing in the short term.

Yeah I know. I had worked out the point of Rosco's "cryptic" post and was trying to only post the players that hadn't become injury ravaged messes.

@ @Oreon16 Guillem has good contacts. However, I'd back the boy Barrett on this one. He's head and shoulders above the rest on Liverpool

I may be being whooshed but Totti is a little bit injury ravaged. He has no knees.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Barrett has the best contacts at the club, if he says it BS. Then it is.

You aren't being whooshed. Totti's injuries came a lot latter in his career than God and the judas midget cunt (Totti has had lots of injuries over his career, but none that ruined him as a player).

Berbatov also broke through at 17

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Ahh okay I see what you mean.

It'll be interesting to see if Rooney goes the same route as he gets older.

Barrett has been known to be wrong, though. I don't think Torres will come out and say anything with regards to this. I just wish he would, it would put everyone at ease and shut the chimps at Sky up. That's if he wants to stay of course.

Rooney, physically, is ahead of most other players in the world. I thing it will be mental problems that cause his downfall (he'll probably get fat and mental before he loses his playing ability).

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

If I was a footballer and there were false stories linking me away constantly I'd take great pleasure in ramming their words down their throats and making them look like know-nothing idiots.

True. It seems, though, that these players who start off early suffer plenty of knee injuries towards their late twenties. Rooney is built like a tank, but it will be interesting to see if he suffers the same fate. His ankles already seem to be giving out.
