I don't hate him, just his non-commitmental attitude. Men, pah!

Hahaha.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Apart from the fact he's committed himself to the club every time someone's asked him for the last 2 years of course 😉

Do me a favour love.

Yeah, he commits in instalments, for short periods of time only.
[/quote]

Dont worry Anita. In June he'll commit until January. Ish

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

He left club he loved to win things when he came here. I'm not surprised if he wants to leave, and given he's been through the upheaval once in more emotional circumstances I can't see the argument for him not going.

That said Gollum Ballbag knows shit.

Which is a very good point, that was the main driver, along with our history and the Spanish connection of course. At that time we needed a bit of luck and a couple more players, and we could have done it, but since when for various reasons it has all gone backwards.
As fans we are stuck with it because of who we are, Torres on the other hand is not. I think he is a decent honourable lad and stuck by us when he could have gone.
Now is not the time though, as Sunny said before, we are trying to bring in Suarez to compliment and support Torres as we have been short in the striker department for years, not replace him.
Lets see what happens if we do get Suarez, and give us time to identify a Torres replacement in the summer..........assuming of course he is fed up and want to move somewhere , abroad, to win things before it is too late for him.
I don't think we will be in a position to help on that front for a few years now.
Yes, there is the flip side, we have been without him for long periods of injury and he can look very disinterested at times, which is annoying as he is being paid good money.

regards

I agree with all of that. I think he will stay until the summer, but I won't be at all surprised if he leaves then. We had a shit season and he stayed on board this summer. 2 is pushing it too far I think. If we go on a 10 game straight win sequence and get the Europa, then start spending then I could see him staying. Otherwise not. If it was me, if I'd have left a crap Liverpool for a great Athletico Madrid that had just won the CL and been in another final, but since I'd got there it had been shit and gone backwards - and I was one of the most wanted players on the planet, I wouldn't care how much the locals loved me. I'd be off.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Yeah fair points. I wouldn't blame him going actually, to be honest. I'd be disappointed if he went to City or Chelsea, though. Which are 2 of the only clubs that could afford him.

He'll be gone in the summer, no doubt.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Depends on how we show any ambition imho.

Chelsea look like a shadow of them former selves these days, and Abramovich has tightened the purse strings. It's all probably bollocks and showing off either way.
Why would he go there?

The David Luiz deal is off aswell.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

If he decides to leave it's not because of money it's the lack of investment in good enough players he must be fed up playing along the likes of ngog since he joined with the promise of don't worry next season we will have funds for better players and then nothing happens.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Whatever happened to Chelsea being self funded by 2012. hahahahahaha

The Journo's on twitter, including the Liverpool ones seem a little uncertain about the whole thing now. This morning it was a 'no he's deffo not going' and now they seem unsure.

One to consider, if there was no smoke, it would take 5 minutes for him or his agents to rubbish it, like Reina did with The Mirror

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Guardian On-line are basically saying Torres has asked Liverpool to negotiate his exit.

I don't fucking like this one bit.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

The thoughts of Torres playing for the Chavs against us next week make me physically sick.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

MAYBE bidding in the SUMMER, George.

Either way, this doesn't look good. Torres has never been one to comment on repetitive speculation, though. So let's hope. Those quotes from two weeks ago should be enough, maybe Torres thinks the same.

If Torres were to respond to every bit of shit that is written or spoken about him and his future plans, he would been to have a twelve strong media team working full time, and all that would do would just give the media even more shit to write.

Calm down.

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

I'm not as bothered by this as I would have been 12 months ago. He's a magic player and I love him but I don't think he's applied himself as much as I would have liked in all our games. If there is ever a time to sell him, I think this is it, assuming he's is agitating for a move.

55 or 60 million and i think we could assemble a decent forward line to replace him. It's possible his very best years are behind him (although I'm sure he'll still score plenty for a team like Chelsea).

Re: Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Chelsea is a team on the way down ... Torres owes us nothing and I think over the course of his career so far for us he has given his all .. I don't think he will go especially if FSG put their money where their mouth is maybe he is putting pressure on them to strengthen the team now etc ... I don't know. What I do know is that in ten years time when he is sitting down in the press box as a pundit on a super Sunday I'm sure he'll be rooting for us and not them.

Fuck em
