Torres gone. Scum gone to more scum

Re: Torres - Chelsea 35mil Bid turned down

Ronaldo won utd the league.

Torres has won us jack shite.

Take away ronaldo in the season we finished second and we win the league, its as simple as that.

He's never injured and more or less always peforms.

In the past 12 months nando has pulled a perma hissy when fit and on the pitch else wise he's been injured.

Plus I have a feeling nando will be seeing more of the physio table as he gets older.

Whatever you think of N'Gog (and I rate him higher than you do), him going will leave us short of options even if we sign Carroll.

I'd laugh myself senseless if we pulled that on the Geordies. Take their best striker and local hero whilst forcing them to pay NGog's wages.

you're forgetting about the clause. in a day's time £50m is torres's MAXIMUM value. if we've been fucked, it's by purslow, not chelsea, imo.
I'm not forgetting shit.

But we're overpaying for his replacement because we're placing the selling club in the same situation as Chelsea are placing us in - it's the last day of the transfer window mid-season.

We'd still get 50M in the summer for Torres in the summer, so effectively Chelsea are getting their man exactly when they want him, fucking us in the process and they're not having to pay a premium for it.

As I said, we're getting fucked.
yes, but look at the other side. £50m is the most we can get in the summer. THE MOST.

but what happens, for example, if torres gets badly injured in may? we're stuck with an injured, unhappy, player with 2 years on his contract. we can't get a buyer until maybe summer 2012. what's his value then? £25m maybe.

look, i know this is all very far-fetched, but i honestly think it's the best way to look at it. we're losing £2m to insure against some absolute disaster destroying our £50m asset in the next few months.

i don't think it's worth getting worked up about. we lose £2m, gain some security. might not be the ideal exchange, but it's not a fucking disaster.

You're all letting your feelings cloud matters.

He is one of the best players in the world and even when he wasn't arsed and sulking supposedly, he got 18 goals in 20 starts last season. If Carroll is worth 30M and a fucked Kaka 65M, Torres is worth more than 48M. And that's before you consider the fact that it's the last fucking day of the January transfer window. Not the summer window, the January transfer window. And he's going to a domestic rival.

We're getting fucked.
That's probably the only reason the bastard agreed to stay this season though.
but was it worth tieing our hands on his value for? what was it FSG have said about damaging short-term decisions?

6 months of sulky service, great. purslow fucked up.
