Too soon to call for Rafa's head?

He's the Dutch Allerdyce, for sure.

Just watching the interview on BBC now.. Rafa looks like a broken man.. his short, sharp response come across as if he's given up..

BBC Sport - Football - Mascherano red card changed game - Rafael Benitez

i thought the same during the sky interview, he's never looked so finished. i think his guarantee of a top 4 finish was the first sign.

He gave an interview not long before that in which he said, in so many words, that he'll have failed if he doesn't bring the title back to LFC. I thought that was the first sign, though it was certainly re-emphasised by the top four guarantee.

Err .... He doesn't look a broken man and his responses are not short and sharp, and he certainly doesn't look like he's given up??

I think he came across as a bit of a loon with his ref was perfect stuff.

It's disappointing, I always liked Rafa, despite he strange ways but since the FACTS he's not handled the pressure well.

Won't be surprised if we can't turn the season around with Rafa in charge. Do not forget that during his 2nd season at Valencia, they were pretty dismal and finished 5th. They didn't 'recover' at any point in that season. Rafa's saving grave his achievement the following season, else he would've been considered something of a fluke (for his 1st season accomplishment)

I'd wait until the end of the season as with this squad it's unlikely a new guy will inspire us to finish in the top four anyway. He's had plenty to spend and plenty of time to instill his philosophy, yet we're a shambles. We have far too many mediocre players struggling in a negative system and not enough leaders prepared to dig deep when it matters. Most of them reflect the manager's personality in that regard.

He has to go. I'm sick of making poor teams look good and turgid passionless football.

His post match press stuff was cringeworthy. He's cracked up.
