Too soon to call for Rafa's head?

Been a devout member of the RCDNW brigade, but I'm fed up.
This defensive or "controlling the game" tactic doesnt fit us.
We had a man red carded today but that doesn't excuse starting Dossena instead of Benayoun.
Carragher and especially Gerrard seems to have given up the season and are not looking like themselves on the pitch. I think Rafa has lost the players confidence.

I'm just saying that I wouldn't mind a change. We still have a good spine and we're not far from mounting a serious challenge for the league, something I really thought would happen this season.
Rafa's 2nd place finish last year was a big surprise, we would have probably won it if we had a decent bench. Injuries have destroyed our season again but I've grown tired of all the excuses.

The funny thing is that, the results aren't mainly the reason for my loss of faith in the manager it's the tactics or the game-play. It's so boring to watch us play. During the game I was at times tempted to change the channel, but I didn't.

Maybe it's the fact that The Lying Rag only shines for about two hours during the winter up here in Scandinavia but this is really depressing.

He should go. He has lost it. Players has no confidence and we'll struggle to finish top 6 this season.

It's the manner of the defeats, we gifted Pompey victory today, bar Torres our players looked like they couldn't be arsed.

I'm inclined to believe Redshrek's insider bit from the other day, those players didn't look like they were playing for their manager

We cannot afford to sack him which is the nightmare, he will not walk.
[/quote]

Its not about money.. its about pride now! And we will only have to feed him til getafe (or equal) needs a new boss....

Another thing that bothers me is that we have a squad of players that are aching to win something with us. Gerrard is 30, Carragher 32.
It's depressing to know that they'll never win the title unless they leave.

If things are to be believed he has already lost the dressing room and the last few performances don't argue against that. The notion that its to expensive to sack him. If he stayed for the remaining 4 years and city got stronger. Replacing us in the top 4 then thats potentially 80 mil from just missing out CL qual. It will cost 15 to get rid, the owners need to dip into there nice little profits they have made recently.

The man has simply got to go, all this were the best fans in the world, we stick with the manager. We need to turn big time on the man someone mentioned in the match thread that he believes he's got the backing of the fans. Im convinced he thinks that. And until he thinks otherwise he will never consider leaving.

If you count Kuyt as an attacking player, which is a debate in itself, there were 3 attacking players in that team. Against a side bottom of the league.

Relying on Tactic-A i.e. Torres and Gerrard pulling us through, which he patently does, is no good when they're fucked, like they obviously are. As for Tactic-B i.e. Aurelio for Insua, do me a favour.

Not that simple, I'm afraid. See match thread.

As a stop-gap until the end of the season.

He might even get something worthwhile out of Babel.

Why oh fucking why do people mention this twats name, he is shit. His record is shite, everytime his name is mentioned I ask the same queston what has he done to get this superstar manager rating. He has never won a major leauge in his entire career. I wouldn't call the dutch leauge a major leauge. He won the Euro Cup 20 odd years ago. He got sacked twice in a season in spain. He's in his mid 60's. He's won the FA cup, so did Harry Redknapp.

The thing that really cracks me up about Rafa is how he's so arrogant in believing he has the backing of the fans, with his 'the fans know' rubbish last week.

The fans are done with you mate.

Agreed

Too soon?
This calamity has been coming, and obvious from the flaws in his managerial skills, for over two years.
There are too many optimists and not enough realists though.

There was a consesus against MON during GH's last days. Ironically it looks like his Villa side have been improving throughout those years, while we had our ups and downs, but are currently looking very much on a deep down. He's also got a local spine to his team which I think is very important. I won't rule his name out once I accept that Rafa should go.

You're always a lot more eloquent than me. 😉
I agree completely

Too soon? Nope I say thats just about the final straw for me.

Ive always been a supporter of Rafa but I'm only interested in whats best for the club. I still think this mess is more the owners doing than Rafa's, but then the buck stops with him.

The hard fact is despite the constraints we should still be a much better side than that.

Totally agree, i reckon he would jump at the chance, and if the owners are serious about making lots of money new stadium blah blah blah. Then they need to dig deep and pay for the man they have just made nearly 3/4 billion dollars selling teams off. Invest it shit heads.
