Cast offs must be great fun for the occasional punt when you have a good manager and a performing team with a good feeling about the club. The club and manager then look great if they can make it work.

But right now I think we need a better manager and players who haven't already failed somewhere else.

People said the same about VDV.

Yeah, but he isn't SWP.

What's London got to do with anything?
Indeed. Especially if you lack respect for the game.

Palacios is a completely different type of player though, a midfield terrier rather than an attacking wide man. N'Zogbia isn't as quick or skilful as Valencia, but he is stronger and more versatile (can also play right side or further back at a pinch). If his head's straight, we could do a lot worse.
Sorry to be pedantic but N'zobia isn't stronger than Valencia.

Not to fussed about N'Zobia but that price is good value.

I think the time for Bentley to come here was before the Spurs move. He looks to me like one of those players who's definitely got the talent but he's got to make the decision whether its worth it to him to make the effort to go to the next level. I think he felt like he'd done what he wanted to do when he went to Spurs - now he's got some work to do if he's going to bring his game to what it was.

When he went to Spurs he had a sensational cross, good touch, powerful running and a bit of a swagger/confidence to make things happen. He needed to (and still needs to) have a manager who will develop him a bit more, improve his game thinking and the choices he makes. I don't think Roy is the guy who could do that - don't really think Rafa was either for that matter.

N'Zogbia is what he is IMO; I don't expect him to get any better but then he's significantly better than anything we've got on the left just now. His pace and running might actually make Bentley a good option on the right and maybe with Torres, Stevie, Raul inside him, Bentley may find the desire to work hard and go to that next level. I firmly believe he's got the talent but he has to work hard or that talent is pointless.

Either way we need someone with flair and pace on the left for Bentley to be a good option on the right.

Linked with Scott Dann today. I like him, good footballer and a red. From Walton I think.

Massive cunto, but I'd sign him in a heartbeat.

City striker linked to Reds
Last Updated: Tue, 21 Dec 2010 08:47

Out-of-favour Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor will not be joining West Ham on loan but could go to Liverpool.

The 26-year-old has apparently turned down the opportunity to move to relegation-threatened West Ham but is now interesting Roy Hodgson at Liverpool, according to the latest reports.

Hodgson is desperate to stamp his own mark on the Reds and has had to defend his start to the season by claiming the squad is not his and he should not be judged by fans until he has had assembled his own squad of players.

Whether that means a move for Adebayor or not remains to be seen, the 26-year-old is out of favour at Eastlands and is finding first-team football hard to come by so a move away would suit him down to the ground.

I've seen Scott Dann more than most CB's in the Premier League ever since his Coventry days (in The Championship) and he's a very limited player who benefits from playing beside the excellent Roger Johnson.

You might wanna try some German vomit porn, it's best in the business. I'll vouch for it.

N'Zogbia is better than what we've already got but is he good enough? I doubt it. I'd soooooo much prefer that we spunked all the money on one major player instead of these stop-gap buys no-one is getting too excited about. Hazard for the world. If not him then perhaps the likes of Young, Turan or even Elija.

Bentely is one of the biggest Lotto-cupons out there and I reckon Wiz's post above was spot on. I've always had a soft spot for him mind and within the region of £1-2M I wouldn't mind us trying to re-ignite his once so promising career.

Scott Dann has never looked anything but decent to ordinary in my opinion and isn't one to take us forward either. Perhaps as a cheap back-up option but I doubt that's what we're hoping for these days.

IF we are to buy a new CB then why not make it count and buy someone with great potential who's already beeing touted as one for now and the future. The likes of Hummels, Subotic, Luiz, Kjaer, Mathias Zanka etc. Big, strong athletic players who's going to win their fair share of duels in the air as well. Apart from Zanka they'll all be highly expensive of course but the fact remains; More often than not class will cost you a lot of money.

That beeing said with Agger coming back from injury (hopefully) now is the time to buy a striker. Or perhaps loan someone who's already showed he can bag goals in the Premier league.

I don't agree at all. And he's only 23 aswell, would be a very good signing.

Why do I keep laughing at the name 'Roger Johnson' ? It has me in fits of laughter for no real reason

Adil Rami apperantly on his way to Valencia for 6 mill euros. Great signing for a very good price. Valencia seem to do a lot of good signings these days.

Roger is often used as a verb meaning to insert something vigorously into the anus or vagina of another person. Johnson is slang for penis in some places. I think the combination of the two terms is what's making you giggle.

Yes and no Mark. He's quality, but then I'll never forget that dance he did at the Anny Rd end when we beat them in the CL.

He's not the only player to do one of those stupid fucking dances. I hate them so much.

But it came back to bite him though which was ever so sweet!

Is it just me who doesn't have a problem with those dances then? Think its a tad refreshing varying the celebrations up a bit.

Only once have I seen the clip of Adebeyor's face when Babel wins the pen straight after, he just looked like a complete twat.

Dann is better than most of the dross we have though, and is only 23. Red and a scouser. That is acutally important imho, we need someone who understands what wearing the shirt is all about.

No he's not.

Skrtel, Agger, Carragher - all better.

And then we've got half a dozen others who are all capable. If we're gonna get a CB, fine, get a fucking quality one i.e. not Scott Dann.

Skrtel has the ability, but is such a liability that he can't be trusted. He also can't head the ball to save his life and his marking is shite. Agger, well he's injured 90 % of the time.

I'd rather have Dann tbh.

And I wouldn't pay 15 mill for Cahill or Shawcross nor 20 mill for Subotic. We need a commanding centre back and there aren't to many of those around.
