Yep, he's been very good
This Chelsea team is starting look perfect for the Premier league. Big strong players in defence and midfield with loads of pace, flair and creativity upfront.
Add Lukaku and Zouma next season and its insane.

@Hansern - I don't thinK Lukaku will be with Chelsea next year ... they'll sell him and pick up a Cavani. I also think they'll do something idiotic like sell Courtois.

Silva and Navas let another big game drift by.
Pellegrini is lucky he has that talent at his disposal because as tactical nous goes he's pretty clueless.

Maybe, but he's the perfect Mourinho striker. Can see them getting rid of Torres, selling Ba and retire Eto'o.
Buy Costa and then have him and Lukaku as strikers.
If they let Lukaku go, lets hope they sell him to a team in Europe and not the Premiership.

Yeah he's a player alright.
Had yaya on the backfoot most of the game.
City's 442 was so fucking predictable though and even the subs Pellegrini made were all like for like and predictable.

This is why Mourinho is one of the greatest managers in the game. I know most of people here hate him and would rather not acknowledge his accomplishments, but he laughs at the critics time and time again. Going to City and keeping a clean sheet - while NOT "parking the bus" and actually having much better chances throughout the game – that's a statement. Making all these young, hyped-up, individualistic players work fantastically together as a unit and sacrifice for the team, perform dirty work on the pitch – not many managers in today's game are capable of that. This was a masterclass.

Indeed. They bossed that game. Citeh were hampered by the shitness of Demichelis and Navas though.

Rurik ... He could never build an average/poor team into a winner. So - yes, he's great at taking very good to excellent clubs to the next level, but I'm sorry if I don't partake in the wankfest. He could NEVER do what Shanks did, or Ferguson, or even what Rodgers is attempting to do. That's why he'll be gone next year, or the year after that, looking for another 'resume builder' instead of a proper challenge. Great manager? Yes, hands down. But not near the 'greatest manager of all time' discussion.

Said it here months ago - I'd be taking Terry to the WC if I was Hodgson. Immense yet again.
I don't really give that much of a fuck about England but it is WC year so I do a little bit. You are 100% right with that. He's miles better than anyone else at CB.

Bah. Not what I wanted to see. City were taught a lesson tonight.

Missed chances aside, the big problem was in midfield for them. I lost count how many times Toure, for example, strode forward with very few passing options. And for a club of City's riches to be fielding Demichelis in such games is crazy.

They missed Fernandinho and Aguero big time and towards the end there seemed to be only one game plan - get the ball to Navas and hope he can do something.

Hazard was the best player on the pitch by miles. Chelsea are starting to look very strong. Throw in a top class striker and that team is pretty scary.

I always support England but I will be supporting Uruguay when they meet. I might even get hold of an Uruguay shirt. I want to see Suarez get his revenge on the FA for stitching him up!

I know he's not everyones cup of tea but why the fuck was Milner not in ahead of that Demichelis donkey? baffling decision.

At least Milner can get about the pitch and is a solid and reliable sort.

Tonight showed the benefit of 5 in midfield over 4.

Agree but the players need to make it work too.

Thought Negredo played within himself(possibly still carrying a knock which kept him out recently), and Dzeko had one of those night that he sometimes has when he goes missing and isn't interested.

Time and time again Mourinho manages to get world class players playing world class football. He's taken one of the best squads in Europe and turned it into one of the best teams in the Premier League.

Say what you like about him, but at the end of the day you can't put it into words.

I didn't see the game, but I'm guessing that after Chelsea went ahead, they played some 19th Century football! 😀

Far from it, they created several chances to go 2 up. Played on the counter but it was no smash and grab.
Deserved the win.
