Developments re Bellamy (not involving us - not yet anyway). Apparently he's said he doesn't think he'll be in City's 25-man squad, and McClaren wants to sign him for Wolfsburg.

Interesting. That was still being described as a "rumour" in my paper just this morning. Guess they'll put Ramos back at RB now.

Agreed. With Terry beginning to wane and nothing much to write home about alongside him, there could be pickings there for teams willing to chance their arm against them.

Alex is pretty good.

I actually like Ivanvoic ...

Bosswinga----Ivanovic------Terry-----Cole

Presume they will line out like that. Perhaps Ivanovic at RB and Alex at CB. Glad to see Carvalho go, he was a sneaky cheating prick, but also a great defender.

As long as Terry is in that defence we'll be fine.

Where has he gone?
[/quote]

To Madrid. He will be a loss to Chelsea.

He is still their best defender, but has had some injuries over the last few years and at 32 perhaps they thought it's the right time to move on. They'll still have a solid defence.

Liverpool join race for Fiorentina midfielder Mario Bolatti - report

According to a report in Argentinian newspaper Ole, Liverpool are considering making a move for highly rated Fiorentina midfielder Mario Bolatti.

The Reds are in the market for a new midfielder because of the possible departure of Javier Mascherano this summer and new manager Roy Hodgson supposedly sees the 25-year-old as the perfect replacement.

Bolatti started his professional career with Belgrano and also played for Porto and Huracan before joining Fiorentina in January 2010. However, he has been unable to settle in his new surroundings and could therefore be on the move again.

The Argentinian international initially appeared to be on his way to River Plate on a one-year loan deal, but Liverpool's interest could very well convince Bolatti to stay in Europe after all.

That reminds me I really liked the look of young Argentinian Javier Pastore.

Have seen him a couple of times for Palermo but other than that I know little of him. Anyone seen him play on a more regular basis? Looked a real prospect to me.

That's Pastore

He was one of Palermo's better players, Real Madrid were rumoured to be interested in signing him not sure what happened with their interest though.

Another top young Argentinian is Diego Perotti, plays for Sevilla.

As for Bolatti, apparently Fiorentina are willing to let him go on a season loan, i think he would be a decent option in CM/DM

Fed up of Argies, either they don't settle, their wives don't settle or they are shite. Let's try some Africans.

Spaniards have done pretty well for us, maybe we should stick with them.

Many of us want Martinez but there is a kid playing for Atletico Madrid who just turned 20 called Ignacio Camacho who looks like he will be pretty good when he is abit older

Diao, Diouf, Camara. Nah.

Drogba, Essien, Kalou. Yah.

Sure we have a terrible record with African players but we just bought the wrong Africans.

I WANT GYAN!!! If we buy him and he's a massive failure I promise to start every post on this forum with "Firstly, I am a cunt...".

What about Diego Lopez. He looked great in the world cup. What's his natural position. He has age on his side and his name isn't Poulsen, so I would rather that.

Only 2 Diego Lopez's that spring to mind are the Villareal Goalkeeper and the 35year old Defender from Cagliari =s

Id prefer Gargano who plays DM for Napoli...

or at a larger cost .. and i doubt he would ever want to leave Italy -- Palumbo (hard as nails and sounds like a made man)

Just did a quick wiki search , he is 30. Didn't realise he was that old.
