So he started most of them. Great, thanks.

Crouch is not a regular for Spurs.

Whatever way you slice it, he plays more regularly than for us in his last season by a stretch, and when he went to Spurs, no doubt, 'Arry didn't tell him he saw Crouch's future as being an 'option'. Given the amount of very fine strikers and attacking options at Spurs, his amount of games has amounted to a relatively 'regular' place in the team.

It is also certain that he started more games than Pavlywhatshisface, and was clearly seen as more important than Keane too who was sent to Glasgow for a holiday.

According to Greek media, AEK are interested in Phillip Degen.

Let's hope this happens, offloading him would be the best news for a while.

I read yesterday that some German club (Stuttgart?) were in for him, and the price was meant to be £1.7m. If Purslow negotiates ANY MONEY AT ALL for Degen, then frankly the guy is a transfer genius and should be in charge of everything at our club until the end of time.

I've heard that Stuttgart wants a season long loan deal. That shouldn't be an alternative imho, we need to sell him and get him off our books.

CP should be knighted if he gets a transfer fee for Degen.

I don't think we can afford to be that picky. It's true that a straightforward sale would be preferable, but I'd let him go on loan for now if that's what it takes. Hopefully he'll do well and they'll sign him on a permanent next season.

Purslow will get a fee for Degen. I'm confident of that.

Mesut Ozil available for 12 million? I would love to get him in.

Germany full-back Marcell Jansen is committed to Hamburg despite interest from Liverpool, according to his agent.

The 24-year-old joined the Bundesliga club after an unsuccessful stint at rivals Bayern Munich for £7million in 2008 and was part of Germany's World Cup squad that finished in third place.

Jansen scored the opener in the Germans' 3-2 win over Uruguay and has reportedly caught the eye of Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson following his performances for Hamburg.

The Reds are looking for a left-back after selling Emiliano Insua to Fiorentina and releasing Fabio Aurelio, meaning they have no senior cover for the position.

Hodgson has been linked with moves for Paul Konchesky, Maynor Figueroa and Carlos Salcido, but so far none have come to fruition.

Jansen's ability to play as a left winger could be a reason behind a possible bid, but agent Gerd vom Bruch stated that the player was committed to his current club.

"The interest in him is a credit to Marcell," he told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper.

"But he is under contract with Hamburger SV and will be respecting this."

Well, I guess the Geordie fans will be more pleased with Campbell than O'Brien who they've also been linked with.

Ashely is certainly spending freely as Newcastle prepare for the PL. *cough*

Maybe their "prodical son" Woodgate to follow?

If Newcastle was Leeds, then yes.

Woodgate has 5 weeks to save his career, if he isn't fit by then he won't make the 25 man squad at Spurs, and then his career is pretty much over.

Brendan take your foot out of your mouth.

You are aware that Woodgate was with Newcastle before his holiday at Real. The reference was in relation to his return to them and also due to the fact that they are about to sign a washed up centre half like Sol Campbell. Hope that clears it up for you!

I'd make a bid for this lad..

Stuttgart's new director of sport Fredi Bobic remains hopeful that Sami Khedira will agree a new deal with the club.

Khedira has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga side, with Real Madrid reported suitors.

The Germany international's contract is due to expire in a year, meaning he will be allowed to leave Stuttgart on a free transfer.

"That would not be good for a business like Stuttgart," admitted Bobic.

"We would like to extend Sami Khedira's contract, but it is up to him. We will hold talks in the coming days."

Should Khedira depart the club, Bobic has suggested the income would be invested in new players, but not on a like-for-like replacement.

"We don't need that - we have three players in our squad who can play in his position," explained Bobic.

"Certainly there will be some more players arriving."

Well given that Woodgate is from Middlesbrough, made his name at Leeds, and is currently at Spurs, I'm not sure what Real Madrid or Newcastle have got to do with him being a 'prodigal son' and, quite clearly, neither do you

So shut the fuck up

This is the most relaxed I've been about a transfer window in years.

Why is that Rosco?

Roland G, you've made a cunt out of yourself with minimal help or encouragement from me, and I really would suggest walking away, before it gets too embarrassing

I remember the last time Oncey was dead relaxed, nay overjoyed with our summer transfer dealings, and thought we were in for a great season

It was 12 nmonths ago.
