Inter to offer Cambiasso to Liverpool in Mascherano deal

Inter Milan are willing to offer Esteban Cambiasso to Liverpool as a makeweight to sign Javier Mascherano .

The Treble winners are expecting to sell Brazilian full-back Maicon to Real Madrid for some €28-30 million in the coming days, and Inter boss Rafa Benitez’s want to use the available cash to snap up the Argentine hard-man.

However, Inter Milan are not prepared to meet the £30-million asking price for Mascherano, and will offer the Anfield outfit Cambiasso in a bid to get Liverpool to drop their demands.

Barcelona are also apparently interested in 26-year-old Mascherano as a replacement for Manchester City-bound Yaya Toure.

Although Liverpool are expected to allow Mascherano to leave, the club's managing director, Christian Purslow, has said that no one will go anywhere until the new yet-to-be-appointed manager gives his approval.Cambiasso, 29, was left out of Diego Maradona’s World Cup squad but he is still considered to be a top-class central midfielder.

His contract at Inter expires in 2013, and he is valued at € 15M-20M.

I'd much rather have cambiasso than toure
[/quote]

I wouldn't. Cambiasso is 30.

So he is, I thought he was younger tbh. Hasn't Toure already signed for City?

Dunno.. I don't think anything has been announced.

Either way, we won't be able to afford him as Barca are asking for 20-30M and City will probably be willing to meet them most of the way.

DI MARIA MAKES REAL MADRID MOVE - Football 365

Real Madrid have agreed to sign Argentina winger Angel Di Maria on a six-year deal.

The 22-year-old, who is currently with the Argentina squad at the World Cup in South Africa, will move to the Bernabeu from Benfica for a reported 25million euros.

A statement on Madrid's official website read: "Real Madrid and Benfica have reached an agreement for the transfer of Angel di Maria.

"The player will sign a six-year contract with Real Madrid."

Di Maria joined Benfica from Argentinian side Rosario Central in 2007 and helped the Lisbon-based side to a Portuguese league and cup double last season.

He won the World Under-20 Championship with Argentina in 2007 and the following year scored the extra-time winner against Holland in the final of the Olympic Games.

He has yet to find his best form in South Africa, though.

Di Maria will add to the wealth of attacking talent at Madrid, joining Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema and Argentina team-mate Gonzalo Higuain as the Spanish giants, under the guidance of new boss Jose Mourinho, look to reclaim the title from Barcelona and make an impact in the Champions League.

Barca pipped their rivals to the Primera Division crown by three points, while Madrid were knocked out of the Champions League in the last 16 by Lyon.

Madrid are mental.

Their bench will soon be worth more than our football club.

Hard to see where Kaka will fit in there. Cheeky loan bid?

True, but that will all change soon.

Jose will sort them out.

------------- Higuain
Di Maria ---- Kaka ----- Ronaldo
------- Alonso --- Diarra

That would work quite well.

Di Maria should replace Marcelo who got a fair few games at LW for them last season. Still, who knows what they've got planned...

No place for Gerrard then.

Who played no 10 for Real last season? Not being funny: I honestly can't remember.

Poor the Karim.

I don't really remember either. VDV got games when Kaka was out and Guti got a few appearances here and there. Ronaldo had a free role a lot of the time.

This is the shittest transfer window of all time.
No money to spend and no fucking manager to spend it if we had it.
All our players are 'Unsure' about their positions and only concentrating on the world cup.

Shittest summer ever!

Questions around all best players. Linked with cheapies and has-beens. Can't expect anything better with no money.

What I'd give for the days of Zidane, Aimar, VDV, et al, at the airport, buying houses.... *sigh*

Torres “Flattered†by Inter Interest

Posted on Tuesday, 29th June 2010 by David Tully

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has told Radio Marca that he is “flattered†by apparent interest being shown in him by Inter Milan. The Italian club have been linked with the Spaniard since the arrival of Rafa Benitez as manager at the San Siro. Torres told the radio station’s Onda Cero programme:

“It is always wonderful to be linked with big clubs. I can’t help but be pleased and flattered. It seems to me fairly normal that the big clubs should be interested in the top players of sides who are struggling. For example, Liverpool are out of the Champions League, while Valencia are in a terrible economic situation. Aside from rumours, as far as I know there’s nothing concrete.â€

and here is a google translation of the report on radio Marca

Fernando Torres: "It's always good sound and it's always nice for the big teams"

* • It is the most valued player of English club Liverpool and need to clean up its delicate economy · Barça and Inter have their name on their list of preferences

Fernando Torres was interviewed by Angel Rodriguez on the program Al Primer Toque, Onda Cero and Radio MARCA, and talked about his future.

"It is normal that the big clubs are interested in the players of Liverpool"

In recent weeks there has been talk about the interest of Barcelona and Inter Milan in counting their services, something that touches the front of the Spanish.

"It's always good sound and it's always nice for the big teams," admitted the current Liverpool player

"Beyond speculation there is nothing"

"It is normal for big clubs interested in the players of Liverpool, Valencia .. Great teams with great players who are experiencing a situation of distress as not to be Liverpool in the Champions League or a bad economic situation as is that of Valencia. It is normal for that to happen, but beyond the rumors there is nothing, "said Angel Rodriguez Torres.

Arda Turan v Czech Republic. Friendly International 2010

Highly rated pint sized Galatasaray attacker Arda Turan is reportedly desperate to secure a oft speculated move to Anfield and is hoping that whoever takes the Liverpool hot seat will make this dream move a reality this summer.

The 23 year old winger had been at his current Turkish employers since the age of 12 and believes that if he is to progress in the game he must push for a move away from the Istanbul club and has set his heart on joining the Merseyside club where his talents would surely be gratefully accepted.

With Roy Hodgson said to be close to taking over from Rafa Benitez the speedy intelligent attacker is hoping that his ‘come and get me’ plea will be heard so he can make his move to the Premier League. His hopes of making such a move are all the more pressing having seen his side fall someway off the Turkish title pace finishing 10 and 11 points from top spot in the last two seasons following the club’s 2007-08 title success.

Previous interest from Arda Turan in a move to Liverpool – ‘As I always mention, Liverpool attracts me because of their tradition. In Europe, I am a Liverpool supporter, so if I go to play in Europe, I would like to play for them.’ (Daily Mail)

Shit source but and most likely regurgitated quotes. But would luv it absolutely luv it if we could get him in at Anfield.

I wish we get arda turan, i think he is amazing. Hopefully hodgson can see that. he could cover CM, LW, RW and behind the striker

Meanwhile, Barcelona starlet Gai Assulin is set to leave the club after his contract expired. The 19-year-old Israeli, who has been compared to Lionel Messi, has been tipped to join Tottenham in the summer. The winger has also been linked with moves to Arsenal, Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Anyone got any info on him? Skillful, fast, left/right?
Would he be a good pickup?
On a free - what signing on fee would he be worth?
