This is the perfect storm for bringing Dalglish back.

Until now I didn't want it because I knew how shit we were and I didn't want bellend 17 year old's calling him a twat when we got beat or didn't win stuff... But now he can't make us any worse. Now it's perfect for him. We're in relegation places on merit. We really are shit. I'm not saying how much is to do with Rafa, Hodgson or the players - that doesn't even matter. What matters is we have a world class manager on the books and zero to lose.

Yep, having a point where his reputation cannot be but enhanced is a perfect setting for the one man we can get in who is A: Liverpool through and through and B:Any good.

I've also got faith he'll put more time in for the youth system and we'd see Shelvey starting sooner rather than later.

Assuming he would take the reigns on this poisoned chalice, then yes I would love to see him back managing us, even if only till the end of the season.

Well, obviously he should have got the job ahead of Budgie, everyone who isn't a total meff knew that, but Christ, nobody thought Budgie would be *this* bad

You did mate ... You warned us from day one.

Yup, I want Kenny in.

I can't see it happening. We'll stick with Roy until new owners come in, and they'll have their own man in mind. Predicting who it could be is next to impossible.

Agree with all of that, except possibly the bit about him being a world-class manager. It's been a long time, and his last two jobs ended in disaster. But, as you say, we're in damage-limitation territory now, so Kenny is almost bound to succeed in those circumstances. I just hope he doesn't want the job on a permanent basis, because 99% of managers end up getting sacked, and it would be so wrong for Liverpool to ever sack Kenny Dalglish.

If Roy is to get the boot, then Kenny is the only choice as it stands right now imo. I don't think we're in a position to attract the type of manager we'd all want, so we might as well let Kenny take charge until we've got the new owners in place.

I would anticipate when Roy goes, and that is looking very likely to be a mid season dismissal, that Kenny will step in to take the reins on a temporary basis.
Unless we have our ownership issues sorted out we will struggle to get in any decent standard of new manager and if Kenny does all right then he may even be the answer in the medium term.
Without money, the best we can hope for is another Roy Hodgson style appointment or a young hungry but largely unproven manager.

As depressing as on field matters are at them moment I am even more keen to get the running of our club back on an even keel.

Yeah i agree with what the bunnyguy wrote. kennys been out of top flight management for a long while. sure he was a great manager for us before but it's a bit of a gamble. look at the appointment of the "messiah" alan shearer for newclastle last season. what did that do?
having said that, i think kenny has been around the club behind the scenes for the last season or two so he may already have some firm ideas about what needs changing playerwise and staffing.

I think Mr Broughton and the other board members should reconsider their position on Kenny's best use to the club. I think he has more to offer than Ambassador.

He applied, thinks he can do the job and has the respect and charisma to inspire others.

His also know what this club is all about. That has irritated me more than anything with Hodgson. His touting about unreal expectations, happy to scrap a draw here and there and his repatedly expectations to not win football games.

I'd take Rafa back now in a heartbeat. I always knew we'd look back on this time fondly, but god, I didn't think it would happen so soon.

It does look like Kenny couldn't do any worse at this stage.

Although I do remember his Newcastle side being shite!

Sack Roy, Sammy and the rest of the backroom staffs which Roy bring in from Fulham and get Kenny in!

absolutely. I've said this for ages. young, hungry, plays fantastic football and is a winner. the anti-hodgson.

This is so 2004.

How long can we afford to wait though? The next 4 games could give us something like 2 points, and we'll be routed to the bottom of the table.

We need to make a change. Now. Or else a relegation battle will be on our hands.

I meant it in the way that now some people are calling for an unproven (regarding the EPL) Spanish manager who has quite the same attributs as Benitez had.

No thanks.

Kenny all the way.

rafa didn't do 'too' badly for us...

With the bunch of plodding cnuts we've got in our side, I'm not sure *ANY* manager would have us playing the sort of football you want Spider (and me for that matter).

Until we get some (more) money to rebuild this bunch of shite that Rafa assembled, we'll be playing cautious, safety-first football and only letting the handbrake off when the other team is already ahead.

There's not enough talent, skill or balance to the side to sensibly play any other way, unfortunately. (and yes, I genuinely DO believe we don't have enough talent).

Unai Emery is a very good young manager as well. He's done a great job at Valencia.
[/quote]Thats besides the point. He looks cool and isnt a fat balding old twat.

Ha!

I can promise you one thing though, none of them would have bought Poulsen.
