absolutely. I've said this for ages. young, hungry, plays fantastic football and is a winner. the anti-hodgson.
Yeah, great, but this is simply unrealistic. Why would any half decent manager without a sentimental attachment to the club join us right now? They wouldn't; which is why we ended up with Hodgson in the first place.

All of this just doesn't seem real.

With the bunch of plodding cnuts we've got in our side, I'm not sure *ANY* manager would have us playing the sort of football you want Spider (and me for that matter).

Until we get some (more) money to rebuild this bunch of shite that Rafa assembled, we'll be playing cautious, safety-first football and only letting the handbrake off when the other team is already ahead.

There's not enough talent, skill or balance to the side to sensibly play any other way, unfortunately. (and yes, I genuinely DO believe we don't have enough talent).
That is patently untrue. Unsurprising given what we've been subjected to, but nevertheless sensationalist. There is easily enough talent in our squad to play a different brand of football, and to get better results doing it. Otherwise, what the fuck are we all complaining about?

tbh i thought hodgson might be a relatively good short-term option before rafa was sacked, and certainly didn't think he'd be anything like this bad. but then i didn't want rafa sacked full stop, and would never have sunk to calling him a fat waster cunt etc and blaming him for all our numerous ills, so i reckon that gets me off the hook somewhat.

the board should have gone for someone with a better record than hodgson, failing that a young manager with a view to the long term especially given the talent of our reserves. if they wanted a manager for the short term sho could easily be moved on once the club was sold they should have gone for kenny. roy was absolutely the wrong choice for so many reason and loads of people were saying AT THE TIME.

This. I have to keep telling myself that we had so many people at the world cup and some in the frickin final. I was completely wrong about Roy, he's managed to take a boring defensive side and make it just boring while crap at defending. The players individually are not crap. They are better than Blackpool and Sunderland and Northampton and Utrecht. We're all going mental at Utrecht's best ever player who happened to be in a WC final a couple of months ago as if he's not good enough. He's at least better than the shite that have done us this year. It's the tactics.

I apologise for the 'I told you so' that is honestly not my intention, I couldn't care less about being proven right (who cares, seriously) and if I were wrong we'd be riding high in the league something I would definately prefer. we as a club need to hold our hands up, admit we made a huge mistake and move swifty to rectify that mistake...before it's too late.

yeah, not disputing any of that, and at no time did i actually want hodgson to come, firstly cos i wanted rafa to stay, then i preferred kenny or possibly someone like pellegrini. i was just admitting that i never envisaged him being the disaster that he's been so far.

But what use is this much-vaunted patience? The way some people quacked on about Budgie, it was almost like they'd never seen any of his team's play, or knew anything at all about how he sets his teams up. Almost as if his terrible, embarrassing tenure at Blackburn (reelegated, sacked) never happened.

He's a cautious, defensive, mediocre coach. In the last 10 minutes of the game against Blackpool, with us losing 2-1 at home, they had 68% OF THE POSSESSION. This is how he sets teams up: sit deep, soak up possession, hope for a break.

He was always going to be a disaster, so give yourself a big pat on the back for being "patient" while the disaster unfolds around your fucking ears.

I do try to remain positive Bren, even if i have my doubts. I'll continue to do so, even if there some prick just itching to say 'errr you said hed be fine' each and every time. Which i guess there will be, unless ya know your keyboard breaks or something.

Why not he has form?

At Blackburn: [10] A succession of poor buys – notably the £7.5 million Kevin Davies—coupled with injuries and dressing room unrest led to a disastrous start to the season. He was sacked in December 1998 with fans and pundits thinking he should have remained in the job and given the time for his team to recover from injury.[11] His final game was a home defeat to Southampton.[11][12]

For Davis read Poulsen, for Blackburn read Liverpool, for Southampton (hopefully) read Blackpool

Hopefully all this crowing is at least making you feel better Brendan, because the "I was right, you were all fucking idiots" spamming of EVERY SINGLE FUCKING THREAD on the site is a little extreme, even for you.

I get the fact that youre an "edgy" poster, and you do a good job of it. However, after having sat through that shite yesterday (did you?), and especially a first half that can only be described as the worst I have EVER seen in my life, I'm looking to come on here and hear others who experienced the same, and perhaps some little snippets on why it isnt as bad as it seems, and what may improve us (somewhat unlikely).

Dont get me wrong, you are perfectly within your rights to air your opinion, and I confess I am looking for someone with rose tinted specs (which is explicitly not you) to give me a boost, but do you have to post the same thing in multiple threads ad nauseam?

alright, alright - i'm not saying i was right, i'm admitting i was wrong! and i never wanted him anyway, just thought he'd proved himself a competent manager at fulham.

still, for the sake of argument, i do think that his time at blackburn is used a tad unfairly against him, firstly because it ignores the excellent work he did in his first season there, and secondly because his almost unstintingly excellent record at fulham (just in terms of end of season resuults) had seemed to dispel many of the worries about the failure at blackburn.

in hindsght, the real concern should have been the other 30 years of his career spent scratching around the bargain basement of european football, and why he'd never even managed a success as modest as, say, steve mcclaren's at FC Twente.

I do try to remain positive Bren, even if i have my doubts. I'll continue to do so, even if there some prick just itching to say 'errr you said hed be fine' each and every time. Which i guess there will be, unless ya know your keyboard breaks or something.
I thought hodgson would be a sensible if uninspiring holding manager. Turns out hes just another Benitez. So rather than pretend im happy with him i say we cut our losses and try again. With a sexy coach.
Not martin o'neill ffs he wears trackies and slip on shoes!!

"He's just another Benitez"? In his fucking *dreams*. Please stop bracketing Budgie with Benitez. It's pitiful.
He is. Same shit formations, same shit tactics, same shit substitutions, same results. Theyre both shit.

Fucking hell I wish Roy was as shit as Rafa, we'd have a Europen Cup win, and FA Cup win, numerous exciting semi finals, 4 out of the next 6 years playing in the Champions League and terrifying the whole of Europe, they quaked in there boots when we were still in the draw, 4 top 3 or better finishes, 4 finals all that to to look forward too
Why is it that we not in the Champions League this season?

You don't have to hope, he's got 30 years doing it, anyway he won't be here.

Anyway he couldn't even win 2 fucking away matches last season, and some (like you) thought that was Liverpool quality

Apparently Felipe had an awesome debut for A.Madrid at the weekend.

🙁
Sad face is right. You alerted me to him and I've started to follow his career closely. Snip at what Ath. Madrid paid for him.

rafa had a pitiful season last year (which I would fucking take right now if offered) but it was essentially ONLY one bad season now matter how much the fans or pundits try and spin it.
the question is; had rafa earned the right to be given another success despite being the most successful liverpool manager since kenny.

let's not make out all the fans wanted rafa out, I think a WORST it was something like 50%. go to any forum you like
6CM
YNWA
RAWK
liverpool way
EST
talklfc
offish

and look how many people who are STILL saying we should have kept rafa.
