The Suarez/Evra Racism Row

Delayed again?!

Pure speculation on my part but i think they want to give him a hefty ban and we're playing hardball with some serious lawyers and they're shitting themselves.

It would be funny, if they back down and if we still sue them.....stating the damage is already done!

Not sure how it can be delayed seeing as they haven't said it would be announced today. They said today was the 'earliest' it would be announced.

Wouldn't happen IMO. In that event we (including Luis himself) would have a job demonstrating we'd suffered real damage, let alone how much.

The longer this drags on, though, the more I come to suspect that speculation along the lines Foxy sets out above may be largely on the money. It wouldn't even have to be a hefty ban - we could conceivably have told them that just finding the charge proven will trigger court action. I really hope that, or something like it, HAS happened as it would show them there'll be a high price to pay for continuing to suck up to Ferguson.

If they did, they have been proper shifty bastards about this whole thing.

They did.

The Independent Regulatory Commission has confirmed there will be no decision this evening and will continue working through the weekend.

There will be no announcement on any decision before Tuesday 20 December 2011 at the earliest.

Meaning they haven't got a fucking clue what to do with this case. Unfortunatley for them they weren't able to brush it under the carpet like they usually do and its toed them in knots.

aye

I dont really understand why all the deliberating to be honest. They have rules. If he broke them find him guilty, if he didnt then let him off and get it done with.

They have 66 pages of SCM deliberations to go through first, My insider says they are only up to page 29

Check out Foxy's last post, mate.

Im getting it hard to believe that there is a committee coming up with a verdict, sticking their heads out the door to give the news to the interested parties, being told "No we're not having that", and going back in to come up with another verdict.

Cheers Jon and Irish! They did so. Guess we just wait for the puff of white smoke.
[/quote]

Fuck off

I dont think that's what's happened.

I think the club have been told and have said if that's made public they'll sue, and the fa are now having their lawyers checking whether they will be able to take the action or not.

It's all pure guesswork on my part mind.

Don't be daft!

They are making sure any ban will apply when we play United at Old Toilet, thats why its bing delayed .....

Found this rather interesting, dont know if posted already.

"Winter wrote: “Referee Andre Marriner called the pair together for a lecture. Suárez apologised and attempted to pat the United full-back on the head. ‘Don’t touch me, you South American,’ Evra is alleged to have said. To which, the Uruguayan replied: ‘Porque, Negro?’”

What wasn’t made clear in that article is whether the words from Evra were also in Spanish. If they were in Spanish, did he use “sudamericano” or a shortened version often used in Spain, “sudaca”?

“Sudaca” means “South American” but isn’t usually directed in a nice way. It’s usually aimed at South American immigrants; it doesn’t take a great deal of imagination to see how offensive it can be. It’s more difficult to imagine Evra actually saying, in English, “you South American,” as part of his order to Suarez not to touch him.

Winter’s article also referred to another alleged comment from Evra, one he made to Marriner after being booked for a foul on Dirk Kuyt. He wrote: “Evra responded to Marriner’s caution by allegedly claiming: ‘You’re only booking me because I’m black.’”

Does Evra speak Spanish. Wiki credits him as being fluent in 5 languages but doesnt say which ones.
