Context Ross, context and intent. No-one should be allowed to use racist terms, of course not. The cultural context, especially given the conversation took place in Spanish, has been completely disregarded and overlooked and its more of an education issue than anything else. I think he's now been educated alright the hard way. I do find the complete disregard for the cultural sensitivity aspect of this as narrow minded as racism itself though. So stop insinuating I support racism in any shape or form. We have a difference in opinion so be it but any more of that shite and we're going to have a falling out.

The context is he said it on a football pitch in England, as the independent panel stated themselves had they accepted he used it in a friendly manner that wouldn't have been offensive where he came from he was still guilty but the punishment would have been lessened. That for me is the correct approach because otherwise you create a a racists charter.

He basically said that the club had put out a good statement on the matter, and that Luis had put out a brilliant statement of his own. Then he said he couldn't say much more than that without getting into trouble, ending off with "though there's plenty I'd like to say".
