The Suarez/Evra Racism Row

Why would Evra's team-mates be surprised by his reaction if he was called negrito. They didn't have any Spanish speakers on the pitch that might know the cultural context.
Tehir goalie speaks nothing but spanish.
Apart from him.

I'd imagine its easily misheard for the real N world.
So would I, which is why I think Sunny may well have a point when he says both players may be telling the truth.

And is Evra a partner or close friend of Suarez ?
Yeah but we can use 'mate' or such terms as part of intimidatory banter too, "mate, you're a dickhead", "I'm going to kick your fuck in pal", "you look at me like that again amigo, and I'm going to stamp on your gonads" etc. etc.
I'd argue the opposite is at least as likely.
Erm- wha? Yeah the opposite is as likely. So we call people we like a bastard, knobhead or whatever affectionately. What has that got to do with the price of eggs in Guatemala?

Cheers bud.

Ok is this going to be like when diouf spat at matey cos he touched his head and where he is from it's like calling him a slave or something, cultural nuances?

Anyway seems like Suarez will get away with this, he is not thick I'm sure he kinda knew as he has been in Europe for a while.

As for fff having to trim ear lobe hair twice weekly is nuts for someone so young.

Foxy has ear lobe hair on his nuts?

Asim has been talking the most sense in this portion of the debate/thread/thing, closely followed by the sausage-digited Dubliner.

Ive had hairs growing from my lobes for fucking YEARS. My nose/ear trimester gets used at least twice a week or I start to look like chewbacca.
Mate, these hairs must have some amazing properties to make you pregnant.

*Throws bomb into thread*

Fifa president Sepp Blatter says racist abuse between players should be settled by a handshake

An official statement read: 'The FA has today charged Liverpool’s Luis Suarez following an incident that occurred during the Liverpool versus Manchester United fixture at Anfield on 15 October 2011.

'It is alleged that Suarez used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards Manchester United’s Patrice Evra contrary to FA rules.

'It is further alleged that this included a reference to the ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race of Patrice Evra.

'The FA will issue no further comment at this time.'

That's him, and subsequently us, fucked then.

What evidence is there? Certainly nowhere near the amount of evidence against Terry. So I fully expect that twat to be charged as well.

Club statement:

The Club this afternoon received notification from the Football Association of their decision to charge Luis Suarez and will take time to properly review the documentation which has been sent to us.

We will discuss the matter fully with him when he returns from international duty, but he will plead not guilty to the charge and we expect him to request a personal hearing.

Luis remains determined to clear his name of the allegation made against him by Patrice Evra.

The Club remain fully supportive of Luis in this matter.

What are the likely outcomes of this? Anyone know?
What this man said

???

What an awful decision, at least withthe evidence at hand. I e nothing.

Couple of games banned if found guilty perhaps?
I think some people owe me and Rosco and Asim an apology. Especially me.
He's been charged, not found guilty yet. If he's found guilty, AND if the evidence doesn't suggest a Ferguson-inspired stitch-up, maybe then apologies will be in order. Not before, and not unless.
If John Terry isnt charged aswell, I think will actually give up on football.
I was thinking this. There is a chance Terry won't be charged as they don't want that shadow hanging over brave JT before the euros.
