I'm a bit confused as to why some people have Pelligrini as their number 1 choice to replace Rafa.
He's taken on a top side, been furnished with Ronaldo, Kaka, Alonso, Benzema etc, and still managed to get them knocked out of the cup and Champions League at the first knockout stage.

Everyone with an ounce of sense (i.e. not Real fans) recognized that it was going to take time to mould all those players into a team. They brought in something 6-7 new first teamers in the summer. It's not just going to click just like that.
They are now starting to look pretty good in La Liga, although I think the debate as to whether the rest of the league are providing Real and Barca a strong enough test domestically is an interesting one - both teams are miles ahead of the competition.
As for Pelligrini, I don't think he's anyones first choice. He's just an interesting choice. And what he did at Villarreal was excellent
