The Race for Fourth

It's a 'derby' for Stoke supposedly.
Then again, when was the last time Arsenal won at St Mary's?

I'm going to try and remain positive - because we should be able to take maximum points from our last 2 games (WHU are now safe, and Boro are definitely down) but that Milner miss just sits with me as a 'turning point' for this current squad (for worse).

That Milner miss still haunts me. First miss in 8 years or something, and in that type of match. Baaaaaah...

It's the manner of how things have been for us is what kills. From title contenders at the turn of the year to a whole month of not winning and now struggling to secure CL position without any other cup distractions. It would feel more deserving had we been neck and neck in terms of games every week with the other top 4 contenders, but we've mostly had games played earlier than the rest and should have pulled ahead way further than we are now.

Picking up 2 points at home in our latest 3 games after having pretty great home record this season feels very shite.

Can we just brainwash our players into thinking they're playing City or some shit?

Lovren's comments a few weeks back about it being harder to psyche yourself up for the lesser games made me want to murder the entire squad.

That comment made me want to sell him asap. Ridiculous attitude. It comes as no surprise though as we've seen from some of the performances this season.

Stoke have an excellent record against Arsenal at the Brittania stadium

Last time Arsenal won was in February 2010... 3-1

However they where humped 3-1 a month earlier themselves by Stoke in the FA Cup and again the following season in the Premier League...

In fact Arsenal have only won once in the Premier League against Stoke at the Brittania Stadium since Stoke got promoted to the Premier League in 2008

2010-2014 is largely irrelevant considering neither team actually resembles those of those years. Certainly a 3-1 in 2010 is a pointless consideration.

Yeah, yeah I know Lucas has had a few decent games recently BUT if he and Origi start against West Ham we won't win. I reckon the Arse will win their 3 remaining games and am of the opinion we won't get top 4.

We need a couple of changes for West Ham.. Grujic to start for me, and maybe TAA too..

We certainly need changes because we're not playing well but everything I know about Klopp says he will stick with the current lot.

My only realistic hope is Firmino starts through the middle.

Thanks for jinxing it!!

Gruijc made a positive sub apperance and had good header saved in injury time. He looked good, and I wouldnt be against him getting more minutes on the pitch.
Cant see him starting though.

The thought of our players taking selfies, the mini victory parade around the ground, Henry & FSG doing self-aggrandising interviews, and the TAW rants if we limp into fourth makes me pretty nauseous too!

This is true.

But slightly less depressing

Although slightly more understandable , i agree.

With Lallana having a good week in training and Studge as well I guess we finally have real alternatives. If Gini or Lucas should give way I am not sure.. but Lallana will start.

We have been doing a grand job away. West Ham are pretty poor at home (discount the Spurs game, London derbies etc), so we'll do them.

Boro, they are gone and can't score. We will do what needs doing.

We got this.
No we have not. Liverpool are desperate and West Ham are party spoilers. They will turn up for us and play it like a derby game. We are shit.
