The Race for Fourth

Im not even entertaining getting emotional about it.
If these fuckers fuck this up then fuck them they dont deserve Europe.

No way am I getting fucking caught up in it.
Its on a fucking plate. Has been for weeks. United and Arsenal have BEGGED us to take 4th

Exactly

It's says everything about us at the moment that all we have to do is win two games against much lesser competition and yet all we're doing is watching other teams in the hope they fuck up.

We're not playing well, we lack leadership and we've been struggling all year against shite teams.

Milners penalty miss felt like the start of a typical tale of disappointment of being a Liverpool supporter.

I'm mentally prepared for Europa League.

Yeah, I agree. It felt like the miss that knocked us out of the CL spot.
This season has been very unpredictable mind. Before you know it the Moysiah will win at the Emirates....

And to be honest I'm not even that arsed. The CL hype goes overboard.too often. Ultimately we're fighting for a spot 3 places below the winners. It's not some massive achievement. Last time we were scraping together a draw against Ludogrets. It really isn't all that.

I'll be repeating this when that Geordie fuckstick bangs in a hatrick at the weekend.

You lot need shooting.

We're in third and Arsenal have it all to do to get closer to us, starting with somehow next managing to show up against a Stoke side they usually shit themselves over. By Sunday we might well only be needing one win out of two with Boro at home to finish.

And yet somehow you're convinced we've already blown it.

It's much better to accept that we're not getting 4th. It makes life much easier. As Liverpool fans you should all be well used to this by now. That way, when we do get fourth, and all look like surprised eels on the last day of the season. We'll rejoice in the fountain of faux heroics by the endeavours of these spineless, gutless, bang-average bunch of mouth breathing fucking water heads.

It's the modern Liverpool way.

This place after a setback or two is populated by a glorious set of those too, so I suppose in a way, the club and us are perfect for each other. Well, either that, or this is the biggest congregation of superstitious football fans on the Internet and I'm not clued in on the proper anti-jinx routine. In which case then, I'll try to do my bit with this:

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA
Fuck Liverpool
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

That should do it.

That's the spirit!

We'll 500% drop points against West Ham and Boro.

Cos we rock ! Heavy metal football innit. Gegenpressing all the way to sub-mediocrity and the Europa League !

I hate us.

If it comes down to us needing Everton to get a result, watch their bittercunt supporters pleading for their own team to lose. you can guarantee it.

We have been doing a grand job away. West Ham are pretty poor at home (discount the Spurs game, London derbies etc), so we'll do them.

Boro, they are gone and can't score. We will do what needs doing.

We got this.

We'll obviously beat Middlesbrough because I'll be there with my 100% win record this season. I can't guarantee anything for the West Ham game but I have a hunch we'll win that one too.

I can still remember the Everton fans and players laughing as they were losing to City in 13/14.
We're not getting any help there.

We'll have to do this ourselves.

Arsenal are meant to be shite and yet they've found ways to break Southampton down

We're not getting champions league are we?
Southampton played a far more open game than against us, even before they were behind. They clearly believed they could win and had their chances.

Everyone knows just shut up shop against us and we find it incredibly difficult to break any team down. However I'm far from convinced West Ham can do that. It was 2-2 at Anfield, there will be goals.

I also think Arsenal will struggle against a physical Stoke side. Especially after playing Sunday and Wednesday.
Soton should have been infront yesterday before half time. If they had scored first it would have been quite the other game.

Arsenal were rescued by a moment of individual brilliance by Sanchez.

Yeah we're lucky that nobody seems to want to finish in the top 4. Arsenal could very well win their remaining games, though I doubt it. I can see us dropping points at West Ham, and Middlesbrough parking the bus fills me with dread since we've shown no sign of being able to break those sorts of teams down. Hopefully one more win does it. We might just stumble onto our faces, have a fit, and fart and shit our way over the line.

I fancy us against Boro, because we owe them one and because Klopp might have to just go for it against them. West Ham we always struggle against though, so it seems almost a given we'll drop points there.

It's frustrating in many ways, it's in our hands and we've continuously failed to capitalise on it, and the league in general is shite.

I can only really assume that City, Chelsea and United can only be better next season, while our already tired team will be playing in Europe, which says to me we'll probably falter a bit in the league if we cope as badly as we are doing now with the intensity of how we play.

Too many people still think Stoke is managed by Pulis. Of course, they still have a couple of big guys at the back, but that's par for every team. Hughes has shaped this team into one that relies more on skill and speed than bruising physicality - nobody is going to mistake the likes of Afellay (when fit), Allen, Shaqiri and Berahino as players bought to play a physical style. And Arnautovic, though a tall, strong guy, also plays with skill and bursts of pace more than as a battering ram. Hughes might revert to the old methods some times when he needs to, but the few times I've seen them these couple of seasons, they're no more physical than the likes of Burnley or Watford these days.

You've still go the likes of Shawcross, Cameron, Crouch, Walters, Whelan etc.
It wasnt with the focus of a Pulis team and physicality though, but more a Stoke team prepared to do some hard work and running against a "tired" Arsenal.
Hughes will have them fired up before the last home game of the season, and maybe he'll want to do Utd a possible favor.

We can hope at least, as Arsenal have struggled away to Stoke in recent years and not won there since 2010.

It's a 'derby' for Stoke supposedly.
Then again, when was the last time Arsenal won at St Mary's?

I'm going to try and remain positive - because we should be able to take maximum points from our last 2 games (WHU are now safe, and Boro are definitely down) but that Milner miss just sits with me as a 'turning point' for this current squad (for worse).

Guaranteed 6th. yay Woohoo! Europe here we come again! Good enough?

Don't think we will do well in the CL.
