Victor Valdes set for Liverpool? All the transfer news from Wednesday's papers

The transfer window is here again! We've got the gossip and rumours from today's papers and around the web.
Gossip from today's Daily Mirror

QPR boss Harry Redknapp is prepared to let striker Djibril Cisse leave the club on a six-month loan deal, with interest being shown in the player from the Middle East.

The R's are also confident they will land a big double-signing, with Loic Remy and Yann M'Vila both expected to sign for the Loftus Road club.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says the club are unlikely to make any big-money signings in the January window as there are no players available who are good enough to improve his squad.

Managerial giants Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola may both be headed to the Premier League after both men hinted at the possibility of moving to manage in England.

Newcastle United centre half Fabricio Coloccini will be asked to remain at St James' Park until the end of the season before making a switch back to his native Argentina.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is tracking another promising teenager to add to his youthful Gunners squad, with £1m-rated France Under-17 starlet George-Kevin Nkoudou thought to be a target.

AC Milan are keen on signing Newcastle full-back Davide Santon and goalkeeper Tim Krul, but are unlikely to be able to afford a double swoop.

An insider has revealed to MirrorSport that there has been a Premier League offer for Chelsea target Iago Aspas of Celta Vigo, but it's NOT from the Stamford Bridge club.

Sunderland, Fulham and Wigan are set to battle it out for the signature of highly-rated Barnsley and England Under-19 fullback John Stones.

"Mini-disaster" to miss out on Ince? Who is that clown?

I know, I even missed off the last sentence of the article it was that poor.

Tom Ince is one of Liverpool’s main transfer targets and losing him to Swansea would be a mini-dilemma that would need to be solved by changing targets in the transfer market.

errrr....well done Sherlock!

Perhaps he means it's a disaster in a sense that we are losing our targets to smaller clubs and it is damaging our own prestige (that defender bloke that went to Southampton) and he isn't specifically referring to Ince as a player? Obviously disaster is a massive exaggeration but it is a worrying trend that players are not willing to hold out in the hope of coming to us.

It makes sense for Ince and for that Molde defender. They're likely to play all the time for these sides. If they're patient they'll get the big move in a few years.

Liverpool's managing director Ian Ayre has not ruled out more deals before the end of January, saying: "We may or may not add to that further before the end of January. That's something we're still working on and considering. We will only buy when the right deal is there at the right time."

Ajax manager Ronald De Boer expects that Toby Alderweireld (defender), Siem de Jong and Christian Eriksen will all leave latest come Summer.

Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic will not be on the move during January window

The agent of Palermo midfielder Josip Ilicic claims his client will wait until the summer before considering a move.
The Slovenia international is generating plenty of transfer gossip during the winter window, with the likes of Liverpool

and Tottenham Hotspur

said to be keen.
Milan giants AC and Inter are also reported to have expressed an interest in a player who has shone during his two-and-a-half years in Italy.
Ilicic is, however, in no hurry to seal a switch elsewhere and his representative says there is little chance of a deal being struck in January.
"I have said it many times and I say it again: 'Ilicic will not leave Palermo'," Amir Ruznic told TMW.
"Maurizio Zamparini will not sell him at any price. He is too important.
"In the summer we will sit down and look at the offers.
"Ilicic wants to stay in Italy. Serie A is his first choice."

Just wait til Palermo are relegated at the end of this season, this guy will be available on the cheap and would be a very handy pick up.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina could be a summer target for Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
The Spaniard has endured a mixed season at Anfield, failing to immediately dislodge Brad Jones once he had recovered from a hamstring injury.
Reina has now regained his place, but he has been linked with a move away from Anfield, with Arsenal reportedly keen on signing the 30-year-old.
And now AS have claimed that Atletico are considering making an offer for Reina this summer.
On-loan Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Coutrois has been first-choice at Atletico for the past two seasons, but the Belgian is expected to return to Stamford Bridge this summer.
And Reina is reportedly high on Atletico's list of potential replacements, although Osasuna stopper Andres Fernandez is their prime target.
But the newspaper report that both Barcelona and Real Madrid are weighing up moves for Fernandez, meaning Atletico need a back-up plan - with Reina thought to be a likely candidate.

'failing to immediately dislodge Brad Jones'. Fuck me these journos will write absolutely any old shite to fill their quota won't they?

Talkshite take things to a different level, but then they do employ Darren Gough and Ronnie Irani, 2 of the biggest, thickest twats to grace the airwaves! Ever.

I really hope we get Eriksen in the summer, or now, maybe he'll have some chemistry with Suarez from there time in the past!

I think we're going to have to get rid of done of our midfielders if we're talking about bringing anyone else in.

Obviously Gerrard isn't going anywhere and you wouldn't expect Allen to be moved on at this stage.

Which leaves us with Lucas, Henderson, Shelvey & Suso - maybe loan Suso out because he needs games, but one or more of the others might need to go.

My new wishlist on behalf of Liverpool FC

Sneijder
Eriksen
Wanyama

That midfield would rule Britannia for years.

Indeed mate. 99% of Twitter is BS.
You may be a bit conservative with that estimate mate. 😉
I recon you need a decimal point and at least another couple of nines.
It's not a bad lubricant for forum chat though.

Haha, yeah you're probably spot on there mate 😉

Scum have confirmed they're after Zaha. That's him confirmed for them then. How many wingers do they want. No doubt he'll be quality ffs. Lets hope he does both his hamstrings early doors. Full snaps.

Belhanda

"Tottenham's interest? There has been nothing official as yet, but I would like there to be," said Nicollin in L'Equipe.

"If a good offer arrives, he will leave. We can live without him and he can live without us."

Wouldnt mind us getting him

If they are competing with each other for a spot it's because Rodgers is playing them out of position, which wouldn't be that surprising.
