The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

Rumoured that United are only offering £8m (plus add-ons) for Zaha! If that's the case we should be offering £9m (plus add-ons e.g. £2m extra for 50 games, £1m extra for 10 England Caps, £3m extra for League title win etc) plus give them Pacheco and LOAN them Flanagan & Robinson until the end of the season.

If Ince is worth £6m then Zaha has to be worth at least twice that.

That's not a great argument in favour of Shneider

And how do you think our mega money contract offer will look if he's gone after a year and we're left footing the bill for him to be in the MlS?

Are we signing Rob? Is he starring in the next Liverpool movie? 😉

I'm with Ross on this one. The wages he'd command are too much of a risk.

On the flipside - if we weren't already in mid table and weighed down by bad contracts given to 'experienced' players and were in the top four with a healthy squad and contract situation it would be a risk worth taking

He's looked rather clumsy on the ball everytime I have seen him.

Is he actually any good? better than Ince?

Doesn't Ince have roughly twice the assists and goals that Zaha has?

I don't get what the negativity is around signing Sneijder. I cant see how someone who's 28 isn't in their prime, Isn't he willing to take a pay cut as well?

Stuff Eriksen every time I've seen him play he hasn't been that good, that Fischer fella outshone him against Citeh the last time I saw Ajax play. The player we should sign is Wesley Sneijder WHY there is "absolutely no interest" according to Ayre baffles me, he's a genuine world class talent who at 28 is in his prime! In my opinion he would change the fortunes of Liverpool much like Cantona did for the Scum. 8M for him is an absolute bargain he's got experience, flair everything! the number 10 shirt is ready for him, we surely have the wages now Şahin and Cole are off the books so again I ask WHY haven't we signed him?
Fischer is a prodigy but he didn't outshine Eriksen in the City-games mate.

Eriksen got the MOTM vote in their home game and played brilliantly throughout. Fischer also played a good game, but mostly so after the break. Eriksen is much further ahead in his developments and would instantly improve us, but I agree we should buy both.

All I can say is that I believe it would be a massive signing on several levels if we could get our hands on Sneijder.

Could be our Pirlo. He is that good.

Considering how much he'd cost, he'd be a massive risk. A better risk to take than say, Joe Cole was, but still a risk. The kind of one we could end up regretting for years if it didn't pay off.

While I like the idea of us getting him, I'd prefer to use that money on two younger players and spread the risk a bit better.

Your probably right I was just more impressed with Fischer to be honest, Eriksen probably is great I just don't see enough dutch football, I watch the English leagues, spanish, german and south american leagues more.

Zaha hasn't performed that well over the last 2 months, all the transfer talk seems to have affected him. I think Ince is good but comparing him to Zaha is IMO like comparing McManaman to Giggs.

I didn't see his tweet about Man Utd, I can't believe they got (or are about to get) the 2 players I've been banging-on about; Zaha & Powell.

Fair enough i'm the opposite to that see and would rather us sign just him than say Tom Ince and Wilfred Zaha for example. I can understand though the wages and everything though.

The main difference here is that Cole, despite his good seasons for Chelsea, is nowhere near Sneijder class. A player whom in my opinion is amongst the top 5 best midfielders in the world. At least when on form.

How often does a player like that get available, even at a rather feasible ammount of money? It may turn out to be a fiasco but he's still half the money of Downing, Henderson, Borini etc.

Worth it. Would love Rodgers style of football too.

Would he be of the class of Ronaldinho or Kaka?

He really isnt that good.
And certainly not one I would want to be paying 150k a fucking week out too.

I doubt he'd be on 150k a week if he came here something like 100-120k which is still ridiculous but well worth it. He's not as good as them 2 when they were at the top of their game but I think he's really close to them.
