The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

Is a t-bone not just a combination of fillet and sirloin cuts with the bone on?
Yeah, it was a slightly tongue in check comment in relation to the BSE scare over here where for a long time we weren't allowed to buy T Bones due to governmental scaremongering / concern over our welfare

Aparent (according to RAWK) rumours in Dutch press about Ajax enquiring after taking Assaidi on loan for rest of season.

Turkish newspaper Fanatik claim Liverpool have offered €15 million for Fenerbahce striker Moussa Sow. The 26-year-old has scored 18 goals in 41 games for Fener since joining the club last January.

He looked like a less elegant version of Djimi Traore playing up front, the few bits I seen him play last season in the French League.
I doubt if there is much truth in it.

I'd like to see Assaidi being given a run out on the right. I can only judge him from youtube clips (apart from his sporadic LFC appearances obv.) but most of his best work for them seemed to be when he was on the right - but we've only played him on the left!

He's played like 5 games. About fuck all evidence to say whether he's good or bad. Given the massive amount of the game-time we've been giving to an 18 year-old and the fact that the only other competition for the wing-position is Downing, it's most perplexing why he hasn't got more game time.

Rennes have declared their willingness to help talented but troubled midfielder Yann M'Vila leave the club this January.

The France international, 22, has seen his star wane in the last year with a number of disciplinary issues tarnishing his previously burgeoning reputation.

However, the defensive midfielder still has the sort of ability which attracts suitors, and Rennes are keen to help him move on as long as the money is right.
"It's possible [he'll leave] if we get some interesting offers," the club's general manager, Pierre Dreossi, told radio station RMC. "He wants to leave, but if it doesn't happen, it will be next summer. It's no catastrophe. He missed out on a transfer last summer. If there's an interesting opportunity for everyone, we'll find a solution."

Interest in M'Vila cooled before the last transfer window, following his role in a tempestuous Euro 2012 for the French national side before he was banned from appearing for his country at any level until July 2014 after being in a group of five players who took a taxi from the Normandy coast to a Paris nightclub while on duty with the Under-21s in October.

The Amiens-born player was even sanctioned by his club, along with team-mate Chris Mavinga, following the incident with the pair, being ordered to train with the reserve team for more than a week. Since returning to the first-team fold, M'Vila, who joined Rennes in 2004, has kept his head down.

"We're happy, he's coming back [to form]," Dreossi said. "He's done some silly things, but he's come through here. He listens, he doesn't show that he wants to leave, but if a chance comes along, he'll take it."

Offer 'em 8 million Euros ... Nothing to lose - either we get 30 in 3 years time, or the same fee in 1-2.

I don't think he's all that mate. He kinda slaloms down the wing like a fucking skier.

Meh for me.

I think he's a fair bit better than that. Given Downing has been given umpteen chances plus half our kids I think this lad deserves at least a chance to show what he can do.

This is bullshit right? This guy doesn't strike me as what we're looking for.

Liverpool are believed to have lodged a £10million bid for Fenerbache striker Moussa Sow.
Sow is the latest in a long line of forwards linked to the Reds, with manager Brendan Rodgers still said to be keen on adding another striker, despite splashing out £12m on Daniel Sturridge last week.
PSG star Kevin Gamiero is thought to be Rodgers' top target, but with the Ligue 1 club reluctant to sell, he has been forced to look elsewhere.
According to the Fanatik Gazetesi Turkish paper, Fenerbache hitman Sow is next on the list, and Liverpool have already slapped in a £10m bid.
It's not yet clear if that's enough to tempt Fener into selling, but given Sow has hardly set the world alight since his switch from Lille, they could opt to move the player on.
Sow, who still has three-and-a-half years left on his current deal, reportedly turned down a move to Arsenal before moving to the Premier League, and has always admitted he would like to play in England.
