The Mo Contract Saga

Ah.. so Indykalia is right, and the Mirror journo is talking BS.
.

There havent been a reference to that awful account on here. There are a few decent Liverpool accounts, but everything is just specualtion isnt it. And a bit of fun.
I think most knew the 500k was BS. Bascombe reported around 400k now, which seems more plausible. And 20% less then the first story which have not been reported again.

Anyhoo, You do know you’re getting info from the same poster who references the most obscure Twitter rumours ever in the Covid and Trump threads. The irony is insanely funny.

Not really, it's part of a negotiation.

My guess is that the opening gambit from his agent (to the media and presumably the club), was that Mo wants something close to £500k per week - so it wasn't BS.

The club presumably wanted something closer to the £300k mark to hit their books.

Now here we are back and forth hoping to meet somewhere in the middle, by playing around with technical pieces.

Anyhoo, It was tongue in cheek when I quoted the Indykalia post

I just returned from 2 week trip in Egypt. Salah's face is plastered everywhere. So yeah, I bet that image rights are a big thing.

There is (or was) a mural of him in NYC. And I would see Salah posters at all kinds of random places here, like a restaurant or a political campaign office. Some people just have something “iconic” about them; Salah is certainly in that category.

Haven't been to NYC for a while, but I bet it's nothing like Egypt. Seriously, his face was everywhere.

Yeah, I can imagine. Must be quite a burden, actually, to be THIS popular in your own country. Every advertiser wants to use or steal your image, every corrupt politician wants to use you for their campaign… He’s probably the most famous Egyptian worldwide since Cleopatra.

Seems like he’s dealing with it all quite well.

Yeah, I think he made his stance clear a few years ago when they were bothering him. It's really a corrupt country and he's basically their beacon now.

Cleopatra was Greek. Trufax.

Mohamed Salah says he wants to spend the rest of his career with Liverpool.

The 29-year-old Egypt forward has scored 137 goals in 214 games for the Reds since a £34m move from Roma in 2017, including 12 goals this season.

His current Liverpool deal runs out at the end of next season.

"It doesn't depend on me, but if you asked me I would love to stay until the last day of my football [career]. It's not in my hands, it depends on what the club wants," Salah told Sky Sports.

He added: "At the moment I can't see myself ever playing against Liverpool. It's hard, I don't want to talk about it, but it would make me really sad."

I'd say there is a fair chance that he will be Mbappe's replacement at PSG.

It would be odd to replace a 23 year old with a 30 year old from a squad building perspective. Especially as their other 2 starting forwards are going to be 35 (Messi) and 30 (Neymar). Not saying it couldn't happen but it would look like incredibly bad long term planning.

I get that but they have money to burn and will need to make a statement with a signature signing to paper over the loss of Mbappe.
I reckon Halland will be their first choice which ticks the boxes of squad building/preserving.
The signing of Mo, who seems to be an icon in the Arab world, would also go down well with the Qatari owners

I think he'll be staying. That interview is asking nicely for an offer he can accept because he wants to stay a Red forever. As far as possible from the Torres, Suarez, Sterling, Coutinho pre-sale player attitudes. They all wanted out. Massively. We have one of ,if not the best player in the world and he wants to stay. Sign him up.

Let's not be foolishly naive, he only wants to stay because the team will win trophies and he has no latin blood. Were that not the case, he'd be talking no differently to the others who came before him. Also let's not pretend these are not injection marks all over him, you can barely count them you don't even see this on UFC fighters, he just doesn't give a fuck. If memory serves he wasn't playing all that well a few months back, he's obviously juiced himself up, is now playing like fucking god, so he's not stupid, these performances and interviews will get him that contract, then he will stop injecting himself, and we'll be arguing about his form again like clowns.

Probably just a coincidence.

An abscess is a localized collection of pus in any part of the body, usually caused by an infection. Abscesses occur when an area of tissue becomes infected and the body is able to ‘wall off’ the infection to keep it from spreading. During this process ‘pus’ forms, which is an accumulation of fluid, living and dead white blood cells, dead tissue, and bacteria or other foreign invaders or materials.

The majority of abscesses are septic (i.e. caused by an infection) but sterile abscesses can also occur which are not caused by germs but by non-living irritants such as drugs. If an injected drug, especially oil based ones such as many anabolic steroids are not fully absorbed, it stays where it was injected and may cause enough irritation to generate a sterile abscess. Sterile abscesses are quite likely to turn into hard, solid lumps as they scar, rather than remaining pockets of pus.

Yeah, he's defo on the juice. But then, I reckon almost all top level footballers are.

This isn't as far fetched as you usually are. LOL.

Except, it's likely he's not injecting himself at all. If anything, with this sort of thing, it's the club doctors giving him it. Players just take what they're given. And it's likely in pill form.

Moreover, this is something done across most top clubs. They have best doctors for a reason.

Surely that'd show up on one of the many drugs checks the league and UEFA do?

Not when it's done correctly.

You can have a testosterone level that is four times average and still pass a test for it. So just dope within the limit and you pass.

HGH tests are only new. There's no test for BPC157

The ball is firmly in FSG's court. They not only have to pay Mo accordingly, they have to step up in relation to other top quality signings. They have to show clear single minded ambition to keep this club at the very top. Firstly they have to secure Mo's future. It's not a given that they have that level of comittment.

I really don't get why they wouldn't want to tie him down, especially if they're interested in increasing the value of the club, future sale etc

As far as players as assets goz they don't come better than mo, best player In the league / world and has a great personality and media presence
