The midfield

1. We lost due to Salah going off injured and Karius being shit. - Salah going off was a big part, but again we had no one to replace him of enough talent, because we never actually replaced Coutinho.
2. We won the champions league - which you missed out - Had Gini to control and a big part of that success.
3. We won the fucking league in the pandemic season - which you forgot, - I was referring to the season after which was still a pandemic empty stadium season (point 4)
4. Major injury crisis derailed our season. Way worse than we have now. - Lucky we had Gini our only one fit and consistent midfielder.
5.We would’ve won the league in god knows how many fucking seasons with our points total. We also played every game possible which has never happened in a top rated league. - No we would not have, we are only playing like the way we do because we know city will win most of their games. Without them the pressure is not there.

We don’t need a stop gap. Trust the process.

See my responses.

I am not asking for a stop gap, I am asking for a permanent guy who can fit into our first team and will be part of it for the next few years along with Jude when we get him next season according to everyone else. This is the best time to ensure that we do actually get two midfielders between now and next season. If we don't do it now - I know we ain't getting shit from FSG to get anyone other than Jude next summer.

I’m thinking you’re a WUM.

Honestly we should just sign Tielemans, i don’t think he’s that great a fit but he’s a warm body.

Tielemans doesn't run though, but yeah he's the best available in the Prem.

And i can’t see us losing that much money on him

I saw on a random football podcast earlier that Tchouameni actually visited our training ground then got contacted by Madrid. Never heard that before, have we actually made a rookie mistake and had all our eggs in that basket?

Sorry don't know what a WUM is so it's meaningless to me. If it was supposed to be an insult then trust me, it takes a lot to insult me or upset me, all I know is that those of you who think that we were somehow so brilliant last season are deluded, we got away with a lot of shit at different points in the season, and luck was a major factor.

Given the injuries, I feel that we should give Bobby a chance to see what he can do in Midfield. He could well shine

I'd like to see Gomez at RB and Trent in MF if Naby gets injured and we buy no one else (if Thiago is still out) .
We've been saying it for years.

If I was insulting you, I wouldn’t be subtle about it. I think you’re on the wind up. A wind up merchant.

So we reached 3 finals and 20 minutes away from winning the league because of luck?

He's proper good at everything. Massive gap between him and the rest of that team
Yep, he's quietly establishing himself as one of the best CMs in the league. He's fabulous to watch.

Luck is always involved in anything we do.
1) Our CL run was easier after group stages
2) The road to the League Cup was easier, and winning a penalty shoot out always involves luck, but worryingly we did not score.
3) The road to the FA cup final was made easier by not having to face Man City with KDB
4) FA Cup final penalty shoot out
5) I can think of a few games in the league where we were lucky we did not get beat, Man City at home we should have been 4 down before half time as the midfield were utter fucking garbage. West Ham at home, we would have lost that had Declan Rice been playing.
6) Henderson and Keita being more available than anytime previously under Klopp allowed us to rotate, and also Taki had good form in the Cup competitions.

Those are just a few.

Those can be easily countered. Don’t you think Madrid had massive amount of luck getting there? Any cup win involves luck.

We were in the group of death and breezed through in the end.

We had a goal incorrectly ruled out in the league cup final.

You can’t say in a previous post about the drop off from Salah in a final then bring up de Bruyne being unavailable for city.

We would’ve won more games had Salah had his head in the right place second half of the season.

City needed a deflected goal in each league game against us!

You’re chatting shit.

We were basically a wrong VAR decision between Everton and City from winning the league.

I agree that we could have been a bit more fortunate last year and won the lot, but that average starting age stat is a worry, and we are a year on. I mean it's stating the obvious but whatever you think about their past performances, you can expect none of our core starting midfield to improve, in fact you can pretty much rely on it getting worse.

Never chat shit,
You just cannot see it like some of the others, and bringing in Salahs form is nothing about luck, that's just his inability to do anything useful correctly in the second half of season. As for city's goals ? Case in point ... complete loss of control in midfield that let's them in all the time.

Yes group stage of CL was tough but most of those teams are previous winners from years ago. But also that's why I said our CL was easier after group stages.
