Hernandez has just gone down with what looks like a hamstring injury.
Perhaps this will make Aspas even more attractive to Swansea.

Thing is Hansern, he still has lots of untapped potential. If Rodgers could get him putting 100 percent in to every game (playing with Suarez would help), he'd be monstrous in time.
15-20m and I'm in.
Why isn't Salah good enough for our first Xi?
Most people when we bought Coutinho and Sturridge wouldn't have thought they were destined to be in the for Xi continously immediately.
I don't think he's good enough to unseat Coutinho, Suarez or Sturridge. He'll be a player who can alternate with Sterling, or give Coutinho/Sturridge a rest (I would rather Sterling gets the minutes Salah gets too - otherwise, he'll go backwards too). If we have limited funds, we should buy players who can actually start based on merit.
Based on current form I wouldn't be convinced Coutinho couldn't be unseated.
And as Ryan often says, it's a squad game. First Xi rarely work. We haven't played our supposed first Xi for months due to injuries.
Sterling will need resting before he burns out like last year, Coutinho needs to be rested, Sturridge is coming back to fitness and Suarez will pick up an inevitable suspension.
Our front 3 I'm not convinced need massive improvements, we just need a different set of keys to unlock the door. No reason why Salah couldn't offer that.
I'm much more concerned over improving our midfield.
We do need another attacker. Our bench is appalling at the moment.
I don't know anything about Salah so can only hope he's good enough.
Truth is we need a few players if possible. Attacker, fullback and midfielder. All important.
Pretty much. My only reservations with Salah are the price he's getting touted for, it's bringing back painful memories of the likes of Pennant and Aspas, similar fee etc (and Rodgers has been pretty inconsistent in the £5m-£10m bracket). And looking at those videos, he's not too subtle in his play, reliant heavily on space, which we all know is a big struggle in this league, he won't find himself breaking clear of many backlines here on the half way line.

It's an Aquilani type disruption to the team. Or Şahin if you prefer something that is more directly comparable in terms of the deal being proposed. These players need to play in a team and system that suits them otherwise it's a waste of time.
As for Pastore being a potentially world class player - and I can't believe I'm actually taking up this role - he's gone in the other direction so far in his career. He was hyped up to fuck and delivered nothing in his big move and unless I'm mistaken there are question marks over his attitude too.
If we had a finely balanced side that Pastore could slot into and "just work" then yeah, I'd be on board with that. That's not the case though so we'd just spend time trying to a) get Pastore to actually play and b) work him into the side.
And for what? For him to fuck off back to PSG at the end of it?
If we're going to sign him on a permanent basis that's something else.
I just don't see the point of getting him on a short-term loan deal.
You are over thinking and over complicating it, you make out it would be hard to fit him into our team? no it really wouldn't.
You have all but written him off, fair enough, for me it is well worth a go, even for 6 months, its a small risk worth taking to try and help get us into the CL, we really having nothing to lose on a deal like this.
I haven't written him off in terms of his career as a whole.
I just think he's a long-term project, which I would find an interesting proposition.
I guess we'll agree to disagree!
I'd probably prefer us to go for another forward like Suarez - someone who can play up front or out wide - rather than out and out wide man or supporting attacker. Like a Luis Muriel perhaps. I guess that's a bit unrealistic though.
Does Lucus Moura get a game for PSG, monster of a talent
Ezequiel Lavezzi. I mentioned him in this thread, and Inter and Spurs are reportedly interested in taking him on loan, as he's not getting minutes because Ibra and Cavani are ahead of him.
I think yes - every time I've watched them, he's on the pitch. He's not as good as I thought he was before he signed mind.
Yeah, I share your concerns.
That said, there have been a fair few occasions where we've looked to hit teams on the break this season, particularly and understandably in the last couple games. Sterling has gotten a lot of joy running in behind in the last 4-5 games so the opportunity for players to exercise their pace is definitely there.
