Garcia and now Arbeloa and Alonso yearned to return to Spain. Alonso was a key player for us and was approaching the peak years of his playing career, a period of time that will not be spent playing for my team.

No, Keniget. Living overseas, my knowledge of players outside of England is practically non existent these days.

My post from last week was simply highlighting from where our most long serving imports have come from and noting the fact that some of the Spanish players wanted to return to Spain and apparently Mascherano doesn't like it in England. The Argie youngsters/fringe players surely find it more difficult to knuckle down, stay patient and focused whilst working towards breaking into the first team when they're half way across the world and can barely speak the native language.

Do you disagree with this?

i'm getting bored and possibly fucked off with xabi, he may feel he has some right to be annoyed with rafa, but as a fan I would appreciate a frank statement saying one of the following:
- I want to stay (highly unlikely)
- Madrid is a dream move and of it happens I will be happy
- I want to leave now and am fed up with rafa

As fans such clarity would be appreciated and his failure to make his intentions clear will leave a bitter taste in the mouth should he stay with us.

The bitter taste would fade quite quickly for me.
The fact is, he is joining Real Madrid for more money, the prestige of playing for them under Perez, a new challenge and to return to Spain. If Real had offered £35M a month ago this saga would be a distant memory. What fucks me off is completing half a pre season without a key player, as yet to be signed, whilst this inevitable carry on plays itself out.
