me too - I would go further and use 50m of that, if we get it, on a bid for Essien to test their resolve- highly unlikley that Chelsea would accept but it might turn Essiens head and make him feel REALLY valued - you never know what he might do next.

Real Madrid want to delay their offer for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso to prevent Real Sociedad claiming 20 per cent of any transfer fee.

Sociedad's agreement with Liverpool is believed to run out on July 18 and Madrid see it as an obstacle with Anfield's valuation at £35m and their last offer at £25m. The two clubs are prepared to negotiate and Alonso is expected to declare he wants to leave.

These players are far too chummy with their agents. Agents are there to do a deal and then leave you alone. You shouldn't be socialising with them. Some of the idiots even go on HOLIDAY with their agents! Haven't they got any real friends?

We should stay well clear in my opinion. Poulsen is a poor mans Masher, not exactly what we need and he's nothing like Alonso anyways.
