Heard one story about the team shopping in Adidas last Saturday.

They'd closed the whole store to allow the team to shop in private, kind of as a gimmick to leave some money in Singapore.

The lads were all kidding around with Xabi trying to get him to buy some Real Madrid gear; was meant as a laugh...pretty prophetic if it does come to pass tho.

Read the story in some Singapore rag, so I'm not sure if its true.

Just passing it on.

According to AS theres a new deadline on monday. Rafa wants it sorted by then. He wants it paid all in cash, while Real are offering VDV, Negredo or Huntelaar and cash. Apperantly City and Inter may enter the bidding aswell.

He wont join City, but they may push Real to stump up the cash.

I think we'd be better off with a part cash part player deal. They have some good players we could do with.

Huntelaar and Snieder would make for a decent window.

I want to see players coming in. Money is all good and well but it doesn't always guarantee that the deals will happen and happen in time. If we could strenthen our squad as part of this deal it could prove to be better for us in the long run after all.

I've no time for Arbeloa, the way he's ran out of the club that brought him to dizzy heights faster than you can say "I met an attrative blonde". And now he's calling for Xabi to sign. WTF?

I'd love him to give us another season.

He must know how close we were last season and the potential the next season holds, I think he'd be a bit silly to jump ship now, I can't see Madrid bringing in a quality replacement in the next 12 months. We win the league, he gets a medal gets to go to Madrid.

Regardless of silverware, it gives us a chance to get a quality replacement settled in.

I have no gripe with him leaving. It was rumoured that he was homesick over a year ago and he has the chance to play for one of the top 2 teams in his home country. However, he should keep his opinions about Xabi to himself.

Just hear on the radio that a bid of £27million will most likely be accepted. Rafa should take a leaf out of Martin O'Neills book (shudder) and not accept a penny under 30 regardless of the transfer request.
