This is all new to me.
But the amount of hatred directed toward Liverpool from all my mates is insane.
I know Rurik started a thread about it but it's getting ridiculous.

A few of the pearls I got today during the game:

Manure fan, "we'd rather City win the league than you"
Chelsea fan, "I'd rather be playing in Europa next year than you guys win the league"

I won't even get into the City fans - fucking rentboy twats.

Ok the Manure stuff I get, the City stuff too (we've not paid for the damages to their bus yet) and even the Chavs ... but I'm seeing this shit from fans from Arsenal, Spurs etc ... I mean what the fuck - it's not like we're a bunch of cunts (like City) or have some billionaire bankrolling us (like Chelsea) or have won everything the last 20 years (like Manure) ...

I'm starting to wonder if seeing their heads combust (sorry Hal and Fabio to disappoint) will bring me more happiness than actually winning the league.
 
A lot of weird hatred from our fans as well.
Top of the league and everything is shite after two draws.
The forum turns a bit toxic with all this shite agenda against Keita etc.

We’re in a bit of a dark spot these days, but reading through the pre match threads and match threads and its not even possible to enjoy the ride.

Hopefully a win against Bournemouth will get us going again. We need it.

It's hard to enjoy the ride when we're not playing well. It's more than that, we've looked incompetent especially at the back.

Recently we've conceding some really sloppy goals and gifting chances left, right and centre.

Don't go on whatsapp then. It isn't really that difficult to avoid these twats. I'll need to avoid the sports pages for a few days but that's fine. I remember that dingbat Mary Beard. She did a TV show then went on twitter to see what people said, then practically passed out with shock. Why would anyone with any sense go on twitter? It's like leaving a picture of yourself on a telegraph pole and inviting people to write their impressions. Don't do it. Everything about LFC will be maddening from now until at least next week, so ignore it. Haven't we got enough in our own heads to be going on with???

The problem is it's mates ... if it was random twats, it would be easy ... the only mate I have who would happily see us win the title is a CHELSEA fan ... but he's 60, so maybe their fan base is normal if they actually remember players before 1998.

Easier said than done, I know. Must say, the only one of my mates (Arse/Scum/Chelsea/Gooners/Brighton/Leicester) who has been a tad nasty is a Spurs fan.

(Maybe its you they don't like ? 🙂 🙂 ).

Very few of my non LFC supporting friends like us. Most hate us.

Its taken me by surprise how many other fans are desperate for us not to win it. Apparently its because we will be insufferable when it happens. screw 'em

The fucking world has turned on its head - I've liked two DB posts this morning.
 
In the pub last night it was quite spacy. But a few West Ham supporters had found their seats not to far from me and my son. They were really loud every time they had the ball, and in the end they started singing and cheering. Probably mor cause we lost two points than they gained one. Strange... Even the ManU fans are starting to show their faces now. But then again they are top of the League in Norwegian papers so no wonder they are happy.

Around here it's become pretty unfashionable for hipsters to admit to supporting a sports team of any kind. They mostly talk about books, but I'm pretty sure they all have a SCM style safe space that they don't tell their friends about.

I suppose there are loads of obvious reasons why we're not that popular with many fans, but while I do totally understand the frantic desperation for Bitters and Mancs not to see us win the title, it does seem a bit strange when the likes of Spurs also seem to really, really not want us to win it.

The Chelsea and Arab City vitriol seems to be more of a recently constructed hatred, but still more understandable than fucking Spurs or whoever.

I reckon (or, in SCM speak, "wreckon") Spurs do it as they have been even longer than us without a title and see it as their divine right to break their duck before us.

Its a bit like when Everton played Utd in the '85 cup final - I was torn, but almost wanted Utd to win, only because I didn't want Everton to win a double before us. If Everton hadn't already won the league, or we had already won a double, I would probably have backed them.

What would be odd would be if you hear a Wolves, Bournemouth or Brighton fan (as examples) get all bitter about us ... does that happen?
 
As a few said already, we are getting the hate because we are doing well. It's okay being flavour of the month with a good CL run but this is different, we are top of the league.

On a personal level, I am noticing a lot of comments emerging from people who support other teams but it really is a case of people in glasshouses. I've been told that Liverpool fans will be insufferable if we win the league yet those who are saying that are some of the most painful football fans I've ever come across. The same fans who would loudly celebrate in your face and openly jeer you if we lost. You know the so called football fans who go to a pub and cheer on what ever team we're playing? Recent history has afforded them this luxury. They could risk throwing it in our faces as we weren't realistically going to win the league so there was no comeuppance. It similar to the patronizing bullshit we've had to endure from United fans with their 'same old Liverpool' diatribe as they smirk down us on.

I really hope we win the league. I've never experienced us winning one. I was alive for our last league win but I've no real memory of it.
 
These wankers saying we'll be unbearable are the same cunts who bought every blue waistcoat in Next because England beat Panama.
