Yeah, I don't know why you guys have been paying for it this long!
If the costs are roughly £400pa then I'd be amazed if we didn't cover that with ease.
If we'd have started the forum from scratch as it is now I think we would have asked for donations straight away.
As it is we moved from a free Kop talk versus that horrendous membership gold site so the last thing we wanted to do was to ask for cash dunc style.
The costs were also much much lower to start with, but as the site content increased, along with technical advances & forum evolution (video embedding & loads of other technical stuff I'd struggle to explain) meaning more bandwidth was required, then the decision to move to licenced software increased costs further & we (well, the other owners, truth be told I've not been able to afford to do it for a long while, sadly) just continued to pay it without too just thought.
I must mention Sean at this point, whilst he no longer posts here, he paid a fair bit in when I couldn't afford to as well as paying some additional costs here & there without asking for donations.
Of course the other lads have covered my contributions too, the forum has been running on the good will of a few individuals from a long time.
A quick word about the forum software, xenforo, that we run on & that you guys will be paying for should you donate. Amazing decision by Sean (& Jono/RedNinja was involved too) to choose this software, avforums have just switched to it, they're a huge & technically switched on forum who said it's the finest software anywhere, their front page layout is inspiring, I hope we can one day maximise the software potential in a similar fashion.
