The Donkey

Absolute disgrace by the conmebollocks.

He did nothing wrong yet gets a tougher punishment than Bentancur who threw an ice bottle against the side of someone’s face.

But delighted he gets to stay in Liverpool during the upcoming break (and probably the one after that).

Darwin should appeal the fine to Fifa through Bielsa.

It's a pretty light punishment. I'd imagine they don't want to bring that much attention to the incident given how fucking embarrassingly organized everything was. I hope it's enough of a cautionary tale for the world cup, but not so much that the pigs are given an excuse to just randomly start fucking people up for no reason as they love to do here.

This is great if he can get some intense training with Slot. I actually expect him & Chiesa to get a chance to start against Forest after 2 weeks of time with the coaching staff.

Slot is supposed to devise specific regimes for each player to strengthen their weaknesses - hopefully he can do that with Nunez.

you know the offside thing doesn't bother me that much. the type of striker he is, i'd expect him to be offside a lot as he's playing on the shoulder.

The problem is when he's not offside he can't hit the fucking target

Offside infuriates me because it’s such a fundamental element of the game. It kills any part of an attack and relieves pressure mostly because he’s a fucktard who can’t do it.

This was the Nunez we love… he fired up the crowd with his every touch, was ridiculously direct, sharp and energetic throughout. The stupid yellow card and the subsequent episode where he was chasing to tackle a player from behind while already on a yellow could have ruined a good performance, but luckily he missed the tackle. With Jota presumably out for a few games, this is Darwin’s big chance to step up.

Saw that people had Darwin in their top 3. I can't put a striker there just for running around on the pitch. Didn't score or assist and wasn't involved in any of the goals.
Encouraging performance though.

Only 2 players were involved in scoring and assisting though, no? Gotta pick a third.

I think Gravy, Darwin and Trent were the contenders for that 3rd spot.

All true - and I don't think we should lose site of the fat that we paid north of 70M gbp for a goal-scorer - not a fucking hard-working runner.

True, pick a defender or a midfielder then. Darwin wasn't bad, but he's paid to put balls in the net or assist them or have something to do with it at least.

I went with Trent, but I can see the argument for Darwin. He did a lot of good things and worked his bollocks off.

His commitment and desire were plain to see yesterday. Didn't create much of anything or have any real scoring chances but was also starved of service.

It was encouraging but he still needs to go on a run of scoring. With Jota out, maybe he'll get his chance. He needs to take it.
