The Curious Case of Steven Gerrard

Its a shame he's off. It will be a sad day when he waves his goodbyes to the Kop.
Best player I've ever seen play for us. Some of the shit people write about him is embarrassing to say the least.

Hope he returns in some capacity for the club after he hangs up his boots.

Wolands comments are also very interesting mind.

Oh, and despite the fact I don't want him being a regular starter, I don't want Gerrard to leave, the guy is an absolute legend, it'll be an incredibly sad day the day he goes.

i dont blame him, must have figured that last season was the closest he was going to get to winning the league with us, gutting for him but hey ho, id be gutted if he did a lampard and went to a pl team on loan though

Shame his final performance won't be for us. Absolute legend of a player whose reputation is at risk from suffering as a result of Rodgers' ridiculous fascination with converting him to a defensive midfielder.

He's the best player I've seen live and without him, we are a team of relative nobodies. Good luck in America.

Unbelievable player.

The performance (2nd half onwards) against west ham in the cup final was roy of the rovers stuff.

Still think he has massive part to play in our season, just does'nt need to start every week

It's gutting the greatest scouser to play the game.
Some of the abuse he gets is a joke.
Whenever we don't win these days it's the fault of Stevie.
Whilst other cunts get a free pass despite doing the square root of fuck all for the club.
It's really sad we'll probably never see his like again.

Very sad news if he's gone. He may not be what he once was, but I think he would still be one of our best players in a position and a role that suited him better. I'll never have a bad word to say about him and he's entitled to do what he wants. I wish him all the best.

I don't know exactly how to feel about this.

I'm definitely gutted Steven is leaving the club.

I just wish maybe he'd have done it at the end of last season. However, hopefully the return of sturridge & our gradual turn in form will mean he can leave being better thought of than he is right now.

This lad has been intrinsic to the Liverpool I grew up with. I watched him play for the youth side, make his anfield debut as a gangly teenager & gradually start to do more than just fly into full blooded tackles until I watched him (in my eyes) come of age by going toe to toe with Roy Keane in midfield & being unable to see who came out on top.

The rest is history, famous history, fuck, he has his own cup final. He's a legend.

What I don't want to see is an aged Steven Gerrard being outplayed by cunts with half his talent cos they are fitter than he is, so maybe he should move on. It's just sad to think his last game won't be for us.

With Carra gone and now Stevie, it does feel like the scouse heart has been ripped out the club. Very sad tonight.

He had a bad game, very static when we needed energy from midfield. Yes, his body is regressing, even compared to last season. Sad to see, but that's life. He made the right decision.

losing two club legends in two years, just wish they could have had the fairytale ending they deserved, carra scoring his wonder goal in his last game and stevie finally getting the title, more gutted than i thought id be, i feel like my time spent following football has coincided with his whole career

If Carra had given it another year maybe both of them would have had the fairytale ending.

Stevie was never going to sit on the bench, I think he's seen the writing on the wall and made the decision. Sad and it's going to be very weird without him.
