Don't forget England AGAIN threw away important wickets.
You're right, and the AUstralians didn't!

BARMY ARMY!!!

Jesus Christ man, your posts are never normally this embarassing.

What I'm saying is England could have won this test a lot more comfortably with a little more application.

We clearly outplayed Australia from ball one. We have room to improve, as do the Aussies.

Is this series still the Aussies to lose?
Going by the last two games, yes it is ...
With England winning this game quite comfortably (in the end), it's ludicrous to say that this series is the Aussies to lose LTW.
Ha ha 'comfortably'? Ok, if you say so.

Trying to rationally debate this is like hoping for a decent Liverpool debate on RedCafe ... I'll pass. RULE BRITANNIA!!!
What a shit post.
I make it 1 all in dominant performances. I dont think its anyones to win or lose at this point.
Is correct.

The plastic Aussie was making out that the Aussies should piss all over England after Cardiff. That has been proven 100% wrong.

So what now? Aussies to make many changes?

MJ i'd still back to come good, but they must be worrying about Hughes.

With every wicket he takes, I'm losing more and more respect for Flintoff.

DEAR GOD MAN, STOP ACTING LIKE SUCH A SMUG LOOK-AT-ME CUNT.

You've just taken the wicket of Nathan Hauritz, batting average of 13, and you're kneeling on the ground like a Messiah. You look like an absolute twat.

And please, don't call me bitter or an England-hater. My thoughts on Flintoff as a cricketer are well-documentated, and in the 'Flintoff Retires' thread further down this Forum.

He's reminding me of Thierry Henry. And not in a good way.
What?

Given the circumstances, I think it's understandable.

If a bit OTT
Kneeling on the ground, arms outstretched, eyes closed, head titled.

FUCKIN LOOK AT THE STATE OF HIM
Its hardly relevant who the wicket was is it? Hauritz has fuck all to do with fuck all. Hes just performed to the best of his ability with the ball and taken a five wicket haul AGAINST THE AUSSIES in his LAST test in the fucking ASHES at the home of cricket. Its the equivalent of scoring a hat trick at Wembley in the world cup final in your last ever game.
So quit your fucking boo-hooing and start compiling more of your oh so insightful and on the money commentary for the next match.
So you don't think he looked like a twat then?

I've gone on record re Freddie's ability, did so the other day. Doesn't mean I can't call it when I think he's acting like a smug fool.

I predicted an Australia win, I wasn't the only one Oncy. During that time you were giving it the big one about "how I would move KP up the order, but I wouldn't it's just what I was thinking, not saying we should, lets' move on warble warble warble..."
Haha youre reaching. And not with much hope.
We've won this test, but the Pieterson issue remains if you think that deflects from what a plank youve looked fairly consistently since before the start of the ashes when you were predicting dominance from the Aussies and amongs other thing Johnson the best bowler in the world.
You like him have had a bit of a torrid time so far, but not to worry eventually you'll both get something right. Just keep plugging away.

Look im teasing and im sorry. Your comments about Flintoff are ridiculous in terms of what they mean in this game and his life and career. Yes you are coming off as bitter and a bit of a sore loser, when theres no need.
Hopefully england have showed you that it isnt 'australias to lose' but by the same token its essentially one all and with us having to win, Australia still have an away goal.
Great series so far. I'll stop teasing now i promise.

Indeed it has HC.

A lot of English supporters getting very excited at winning their first test against Australia in 4 years. There's a very long way to go boys. Only 3 of that Australia side had played at Lords before, and they'll be very keen to make amends at Edgbaston.

This has the makings of a classic Series.

Have a look back through this thread Oncy. I've gota lot more correct than I have incorrect, all of which you've conveniently forgotten/omitted.

As for Johnson, he's ranked currently in the Top 5 bowlers in World cricket. Check the rankings. His form in this Series has been one of the biggest talking points going, but you know that anyway.

last ever game at lords, and the first time hes ever got a 5for there, he should have bowed his head and got ready for the next batsmen shouldnt he. COCK.
I agree with every word of that. Im taking nothing for granted. The worries over Pieterson, Bopara and Broad are still there and Cook....well he needs to step up. The aussies have problems with Hughes, Johnson and North.
Its going to be great.

HAHAHA Ive only got 2 pages in so far and:

Symonds is a certainty.
Hauritz is a container not a wicket taker (he's there top wicket taker in case you didnt know)
Johnson is the best bowler in the world.

I wont go to page 3, I dont have any more trousers.

Yeah, fair enough. I'm with you on most of that.

The celebration killed me though. I mentioned it after the First Test too if people wanna look back. I've gone on and on and ariston in the FF about Henry's goal celebrations in his smug pomp. Freddie's effort today smacked of it. I just fucking hate that shit.

Ok dude - I will depart the thread.

Ciao.

Changes for the 3rd test?
Im going to go with-
Onions out for Harmison
Bopara out for Bell.

Siddle out for Lee.

England may have a tendancy to stick with the team that just won at Lords but for me that would be a mistake. Australia MUST bring lee back hes a big time player. Hauritz and Hilf are safe and doing a good job and i really cant see johnson being canned just yet even tho the pressure of the Ashes seem to be affecting him and Bopara more than anyone. So siddle must be in trouble.
Bopara has to go. He's gash and way out of his depth.
Hes a terrific cricketer. I think this has just come to soon for him. Bell will get you 40's at least and is a superb fielder. Its the obvious one.

If Lee is fit then he's nailed on to come in for Siddle. I guess if Clark and Watson can perform well in the tour match they'll have an outside chance of making the Test team. The Aussies don't have another opener, so if they want to drop Hughes then maybe Hussey up to open with Watson in the middle order (so says Warne anyway)

Bell just got a ton and it is his home ground, yet i think/hope they'll stick with Ravi. I'd love them to pick Harmison instead of Onions, but its almost a given that they'll go with the same bowling attack that just took 20 wickets in this game.

Bell has always been shocking against the Aussies though. I think he got 2 50's in 10 innings v them in the last home series.

Strauss - 8
Flintoff - 9
Anderson - 7
Bopara - 5
Onions - 5
Pieterson - 6
Cook - 6
Prior - 6
Swann - 7
Collingwood - 7
Broad - 5

Hauritz and Hilf are safe and doing a good job and i really cant see johnson being canned just yet even tho the pressure of the Ashes seem to be affecting him and Bopara more than anyone. So siddle must be in trouble.

Contrary to popular belief, Lee is far from finished as an international bowler. Practice-match-reverse-swing-shenanigans aside, he is more of a line and length bowler than in previous years, and he's also no mug with the bat.

I agree Harmy has to come in, he's in top form, always seems more fired up at home, and this win at Lord's will rekindle memories of 2005 (has anyone mentioned that). He is a similar bowler to Flintoff, without perhaps the exaggerated swing, but he will bring genuine angst to the table and that's what we need on flat decks.

I've always had a soft spot for Bell, great hands anywhere, but a top fielder in close. Short leg especially.

Bopara has to go. He's gash and way out of his depth.
Hes a terrific cricketer. I think this has just come to soon for him. Bell will get you 40's at least and is a superb fielder. Its the obvious one.
Bell has always been shocking against the Aussies though. I think he got 2 50's in 10 innings v them in the last home series.
Bopara has 0 in 4 so far. I really like Bopara but his touch is awful and we cant afford passengers. Players must be picked on form, and he isnt doing it. Similarly Hussey would be shitting it if i were Aussie c.o.s

Yeah i know that Ravi hasn't done it yet, it's just that i have no confidence in Bell to come in and perform well against the Aussies. Ravi has the talent to be a very good Test batsman, and with no viable alternative (imo) i'd stick with him for one more test.

Assuming that everyone is fit i'd be very surprised if England didn't pick the same team.
