Much was made of Klopp's throwaway comment about winning the season's last 14 games in the pre-game presser, but.....it's not beyond possibility. Some reasons...

We've just dominated a Spurs side that most cream themsleves over
We've got no European or cup games to worry about - fresh legs a big advantage with our high energy game
We're about to head off for a bonus warm-weather team-bonding session in Feb
Mane back
Coutinho picking up sharpness again
Matip getting back in the groove after a lay-off
Henderson seemingly playing with less pain again
Can finally fallen out of favour
Firmino about to get a much needed break
If we recover our early season form just as other sides begin to tire, we'll be fucking unstoppable
A relatively kind run-in

So, much as there will be likely derision initially, as the next 13 games unfold keep your mounting excitement in here. Win the next 13 and we might just do it.

Too much optimism for me to get involved, but if we stop being dickheads, it's certainly possible we can get a lot of points out of those games.

Oh, I've just realised you were talking about the title, no, calm down, the top three though, maybe.

Matip made a few bad decisions and tackle's, I wouldn't say he was in form or back at his level he was performing at pre Christmas.

coutinho , whilst better against spurs , again looked half the player he did prior to the Watford injury

the rest is to be seen , the rest period should definitely go some way to help milner and a few others who have looked shagged recently but im still not convinced our performance levels against the lesser sides wil be anywhere near whey they would need to be to ensure else comfortably qualify for the Cl or even begin to think to push for second or whatever

The only thing from your list that gives me any encouragement is that:-

1) We won't be playing anytime soon so the rest
2) All our other challengers for 2,3,4 have other distractions that may tire them out but they all have better squads than us.

Don't forget potential injuries that may happen - but in terms of the title - fuck that - we ain't getting anywhere near that.

Pretty sure now we'll fuck up to Leicester...at least I'll be optimistic I wont have to read any of the bollocks in this thread.

Op is in dreaming. Its never ceases to amaze me how some people like to hang off Klopps every last word, even when he said it 'jokingly'. Even if we had Suarez, messi and neyymar we wouldn’t win the next 13 games.

They don't "all have have better squads than us". That's sometimes said about Tottenham for example, but look how they collapsed against us last Saturday, when we had players missing as well. I don't think we'll win the title either, but I most definitely can see us getting as close as any other team in the chasing pack.

I'm not convinced that we have turned the corner. It's the collective mentality of these players which worries me. For many of them, it seems that the performances this season so far have been far above what they have ever achieved so much so they, quite possibly, can't see what the fuss is all about. Until that mental barrier is addressed, we'll continue to see the collapses against low to mid-table teams.

With Arsenal and Man City coming up over the next couple of games let's hope this continues.

I'm sure if someone had told me at the start of the season we'd be 3 points off second place at this stage in Feb - I'd have taken it
Quite.

As I keep saying to anyone who'd listen, if we'd have had the same results, but spread out randomly over the season instead of success followed by failure, we'd all be pretty happy with our position right now.

In the 80s when we would win the league regularly United would raise their game for the big games, but we would be consistent through the season. So, while they had a good record against us, our consistent standard won us the league. It seems that now we are the team which can raise our game. Maybe that's unfair as the "smaller" teams pose a different type of challenge, but whereas United and other teams can bombard them with different types of threat, we seem to almost grind to a standstill and our flowing game sputters and dies.

We should get top 4 from this position. We have long gaps between games. Everyone is back and injury free. There's no excuses for us not playing at the intensity we were in the first half of the season.

Despite the strength of competition, It will be a complete failure of a season if we do not land CL football this year. The fact we are out of all the cups and not in Europe means we should be comfortable favourites to finish in the top four. Top three would be even better. Fuck that nervy qualification match.

While we have proven in the first half of the season we are more than capable of going on a strong run, I don't see how any sane person can see us winning 14 on the spin.
What's our best to date this season in the league? 6? 7?

Also your assumptions are subjective to say the least.

There is no confirmation that Hendo is playing without pain.

Matip doesn't look near his pre injury form so much so Lucas outperformed him against Spurs at CB.

Coutinho isn't anywhere near his former self.

Lallana and Firmino continue to shoot blanks in front of goal.

Now of course there is a lot to be hopeful for with the gap between games, others cup distractions and our relatively easy run in, but 14 games? Please this is the stuff that has other fans laughing at us.

We've been shite for 6 weeks and ropey for 12.

If we did somehow manage to win 14 I just hope it doesn't mask the fact we are desperately short of players and will suffer the same fate only sooner next season without serious reinforcements.

It'll also be a bitter pill to swallow to lose out on the title by a handful of points knowing a couple of signings either in the summer or Jan could have made the difference

I thought so.
I completely see The Klopps logic over the cups and agree 100% with that tactic. However the proof of the pudding is in the eating - if come May we are out of the top four then it's a massive fail

I think we played ok in the Saints game. Not quite good enough but we didn't throw it. It is a semi in a cup and there is always a chance of losing a semifinal so it is pretty much the FA cup we bottled.

Jordan Henderson believes Liverpool have not atoned for recent results with their impressive defeat of Tottenham Hotspur but set the standard for realising Jürgen Klopp’s dream of winning every remaining game.

Liverpool’s Lallana reveals players-only meeting helped spark win over Spurs

The Liverpool manager said before Spurs’ visit to Anfield that he dreamed of 14 consecutive league victories, despite going into the contest with only one win in 10 matches. Henderson, who convened a team meeting at Melwood last Thursday in response to the poor run, insists Liverpool’s performance against Mauricio Pochettino’s team indicated Klopp’s target is not as fanciful as it appears.
“That is the aim,” the Liverpool captain said. “From day one we’ve said the aim is to win every game. Sometimes it is not possible but that’s our aim and our aim is to do that from now until the end of the season. As players we take the responsibility as we feel as though we have let ourselves down, the manager down and the fans down. Putting in that performance doesn’t make up for it but it is a start and a step in the right direction. Now we have to build on that and keep going.
“We have fantastic quality in the team, great mentality and great character but it is no good me saying that; it is up to us to show that from now until the end of the season.”

Sadio Mané’s two early goals against Spurs set Liverpool on course for their first league win since New Year’s Eve but Henderson drew greater satisfaction from how Klopp’s team closed out the game after half-time.
The midfielder said: “The most pleasing thing was second half we were solid, focused, took the sting out of the game and did a lot of good things without the ball. Overall I felt we defended well as a team and attacked well as a team. They couldn’t live with Sadio’s pace in behind. We had a good week’s training leading in and I thought we put everything we had worked on in training into the game and it worked perfectly.”
Liverpool head to La Manga on Wednesday for a five-day training camp and Henderson added: “I felt as though we’ve always had confidence and belief but performances over recent weeks haven’t been up to the standard we’ve set ourselves and we’ve been punished.
“I thought everyone showed great character against Tottenham and now we have to make sure we are consistent and do it from now until the end of the season. In the Premier League when you win it is always an important result. To win like we did was very pleasing and it will give everyone a big lift.”

Henderson is getting some undeserved flack both on and off the field, but its quite clear he's turned into a very important player for us and maturing into a very good captain.
