"I've played in a lot of stadiums but for me there is nothing like playing at Liverpool. The fans always sing and hold up their scarves before and after the game - whether they have won or lost. It must be amazing if you are a Liverpool player" Thierry Henry
""I felt the power of Anfield, it was magnificent … maybe that interfered with the result." Jose Mourinho
"The crowd got Vidic booked, but this atmosphere is hard to handle for a referee. Their fans were fanatical with every decision, they put the referee under pressure all the time." Slur Alex Baconface
A lot is made of the Kop as 12th man - but if it isn't a myth - and there are reasons, anecdotal of course, to suspect that the crowd does play a significant role, then he's been a bigger flop this season than last summer's signings.
The only games that have had a buzz about them this season - where the crowd has been up for it before during and after - have been the ones against big clubs and ones we've got big results. Man U in the cup, Citeh in the cup, Everton.
It's been like a church in the games we've been beaten by shite like Wigan and Fulham. I know that this is self fulfilling but if the fans can take any credit for performances from St Etienne to Istanbul to all the others - then we need to accept that the silence around the ground when we're shite has at least contributed to the results.
No massive point, just thinking about it is all.
