I guess it's good that he's gone somewhere but League One isn't very encouraging, is it?

Not really, but it will help get him games and physically stronger.. That can only be a benefit..

Apparently he turned down a move to Bologna in Serie A, so their must be something about him, for them to show an interest...

League One seems alright to me, it's his first loan and he's never played a professional game before. Lets see how he does.

Rosler seems quite a decent manager with the right ambitions. And he sounded very keen to make sure he treated the player well, so let's hope it works out. As far as I'm concerned he's got just as much potential as Suso and the sooner he gets some game time under is belt the better.

Is the end of him then? We've never had a player go out on loan and come back and make it into being decent for the first team.

Warnock did alright for us. Ince could have done alright had he stayed at Liverpool after his initial loan spell.
But our reserves/youth players have been shite for a decade really. Now it should start making more sense in loaning out the talented ones to get first team experience.
Clubs all over Europe have succeeded in loaning out their young players. Shouldn't be looking solely at our own past to judge how helpful or unhelpful loaning out youth players can be.

Normally our more decent youth players get a shot at the first team before getting the loan of death. If I was to put a bet on this kid making it or not, I know where my money would go. I hope I'm wrong and all of our youth players end up ace, but I feel that if they're good enough, they'll get a shot and not need a loan.

I've seen a fair bit of league One football and most of the teams try to get it down and play properly. Brentford are no exception. They also have a good record for spotting young Premiership players and getting them on loan. At the start of this season they had Conor McAleny on loan from Everton and Rosler had high hopes for him and was starting him ahead of more experienced players, but he broke his leg. He may see Teixeira as a replacement. If Teixeira is good enough he'll get game time at Brentford and the experience will do him the world of good.

Hi Actonian, what do you think of Harlee Dean, do you think he's gonna be Premier League material?

Teixeira was always a stand out player in reserves games so no doubt he needed a loan. Frrrack I never realised that he was 20, i thought he is a teen-o. So I hope he makes it big from there, although I would have preferred at least a loan deal at a championship side. Let's see how he does there

We haven't actually had many promising youngsters go on loan until recently, so it's wrong to say that because it's been the death-knell of other youngsters it'll also bein this case too, simply because the likes of Teixeira are a step above in terms of class. It's very rare these days for young players never to go out on loan. Sterling would almost certainly have gone last season if we hadn't been down to the bare bones.

Texeira is very young so the League 1 experience will be great for him and will speed up his development. Its exactly what he needs.

Considering he's never kicked a competitive ball, it's probably the right move, it's only 6 months and he's got a long way to go. I'd rather he be at a league one side than fucking off to Spain.

Dean has improved a lot over the last couple of years. He's big, strong but also can play a bit. I was surprised that no one came in for him in the summer. If he keeps on progressing he could be Premiership standard in a couple of years

Yeah he looks the part although I think he'll also benefit from having your other loanee Martin Taylor beside him. Taylor is a commanding CB who doesn't take prisoners and reads the game well.

I'm surprised they signed Taylor as they seem well covered at centre-back. The problem in defence is at left back, with Bidwell injured. Also, the reserve keeper who'll have to play at the weekend, doesn't inspire confidence. The Bees are at Tranmere on Saturday so Reds fans can pop over the water to see how Teixeira gets on.

Good luck to him - the odds don't look good - being 20 and still not played for us and going out to loan. I think Cleverly did something similar, so there maybe hope!

We actually rejected a loan offer from Bologna before sending him to Brentford.
I think he'll do well.

[article=http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/news/article/jct-quotes-11.09.13-1047482.aspx?#xTAeowBifoOVPvRS.99 ]Joao Carlos Teixeira said he has come to Brentford to try and improve his game and help The Bees towards the top of League One.

The 20-year-old midfield player joined Brentford on loan from Liverpool yesterday.

He will remain at Griffin Park until January 5.

Joao joined Liverpool from Portuguese giants Sporting Clube de Portugal, better known as Sporting Lisbon, in January 2012.

The attacking midfield player has been part of the Under-21 set up at Anfield since his arrival and made 20 appearances in the new Barclays Under-21 Premier League last season, scoring two goals.

Joao, who has represented Portugal at Under-19 and Under-20 level, played for Sporting in the NextGen Series, the Under-19 tournament for the Academy teams at some of Europe’s top clubs, against Liverpool before joining The Reds.

He said he was at the stage of his career where he needed to play men’s football.

“I am here and trying to help the team,” said Joao, speaking to Bees Player yesterday.

“I want to do my best and I hope I can improve too.

“My time at Liverpool has been great.

“I had a back injury at the start but now I am fine and fit to play.

“I have been playing Under-21 football and now I need something else.

“I think I can find it at Brentford.

“Under-21 football is good but I need men’s football.

“I am trying to play First Team games.

“I have spoken to the Manager and the Sporting Director, they are nice people, really friendly and I am trying to help.”

Joao trained with Brentford yesterday and said he was fit and ready to play.

He said he had spoken to his Liverpool team mates about life on loan in the lower leagues and thought he would enjoy it.

“I am a good passer of the ball and technical,” he said.

“I play in attacking midfield and try to score goals.

“Training today was hard.

“I have been in Portugal for three days but I am fit and I feel alright to play.

“I am sharp and fit to play.

“I spoke with some of the players at Liverpool about going out on loan and I think I will be fine.

“I think I will like playing in League One.”

Brentford’s next match is the Sky Bet League One game against Tranmere Rovers on Saturday.

Joao said his friends, family and colleagues could come and watch the game, being played on Merseyside, and he was looking forward to it.

“Some people from the Club can come and watch me,” said the midfield man.

“And some of my friends from up there can see it too.

“I am looking forward to it.”[/article]
