We looked so much better once Carra moved into the centre of defence. Any chance we can clone Mascher so he can play RB and CM at the same time? If not, I'd be tempted to go:

Reina

Mascherano - Carra - Agger - Insua/Aurelio

Lucas - Aquilani

Kuyt - Gerrard - Riera

Wash


It'll probably be another backs-to-the-walls display, but we're getting good at those. And Arsenal are very vulnerable to both the counter-attack and set-pieces. I have a feeling we might sneak a 1-0 win here if we don't make any mistakes in defence.

I don't fancy Carra against Arshavin. And I doubt whether Maxi can manage another 80-90 mins again so soon. Plus he wasn't very good today.

Nope. It had to be 5 before Jan I think. Anyway, he's not suspended.

I would go for experience at fullback and use Ngog's pace. Riera is our best left winger and gives us great balance. 1-0 to us.

Yea the game mostly passed Maxi by but he had a few quality moments in the second half and he'd be better suited to Arsenal than the Bitters. I just want Dirk up front and the next best option on the right is Maxi (given SG needs to play behind Kyut).

Todays battling performance was just the tonic. That old team spirit and pride is making a welcome return. This was a step or two in the right direction.

Swap Kuyt back to the right and Ngog up front. I like Ngog but I really hate that we don't have any other options up front. I would prefer your team Wilko but Rafa usually plays Dirk on the right in the big games.

You need *some* intelligence to go along with the pace. Babel is utterly fucking stupid and useless. We also need some solidity in CM against Arsenal, so like it or not Lucas should and will play.

No one can accuse the man of hiding. He has taken an unbelievable amount of stick from Liverpool fans on forums, phone ins and from the match goers, but he has kept going and kept trying. He turned another very good performance against Everton and has been one of our better players over the last month.
