If we do sell, there better be a buy back clause ... I would rather give him a contract extension and loan him there for a year.

[article=http://www.101greatgoals.com/blog/porto-are-in-advance-talks-to-sign-liverpool-winger-suso-confirms-agent-o-jogo/]The front page of one of Portugal’s leading papers, O Jogo, today lift the veil on FC Porto’s attempts to sign Suso from Liverpool.

The transfer scoop is the main splash on the front page of the paper, in which it is made crystal clear that FC Porto’s relatively new manager Julen Lopetegui is focused on trying to buy Suso from Liverpool. Moreover, the potential deal is ratified by Suso’s agent Dani Rodriguez.

According to the story, Suso, 20, only has one year left to run on his Anfield contract, and with the Spanish youngster seemingly outside Brendan Rodgers’ first team plans for the foreseeable future, it seems likely that the Scousers will let the youngster leave for Porto this summer.

Due to the lack of time on his contract, Porto, who badly need a winger in their squad, are hoping to get the player on the cheap.

Suso has been at Liverpool since 2010, however he has made just 14 appearances for the Reds.

Instead most of his playing time has happened away from Anfield, and last season Suso impressed on loan at Almeria where he scored three goals in 33 games in Spain.

The overriding feeling is that Suso to Porto is one deal that will happen before the start of the 2014-15 campaign.[/article]

There is clear potential there so I can understand a team like Porto getting involved. I hope we don't lose him for some pitiful fee.

Simply put, if Porto want him, fucking keep him because he must be dynamite

Sneaky Porto. They will probably sell him on for 20million in a few years.

Yep.
It's the same scouting department that identified the likes of Radamel Falcao James Rodriguez, Hulk, Deco and many other top stars.

If his name was Sunberry and he played for Blackpool he'd be worth 25mil.

His agent has said that we've offered him a new deal but he's not to keen on signing because of lack of playing time.
If we're lettng him go we need to incert a buy back clause and sell on clause.

We will probably sell him for £3 million and 2 years later will be linked to Chelsea/Madrid with a buyout clause of £35 million.

He is only 20 though.

At the same age, Adam Lallana had played a handful of games in the Championship on the way to playing in the 1st Division.

Yes, October 2012:

Liverpool have today confirmed Suso has signed a new long-term contract with the club.

The 18-year-old committed his future to the Reds by putting pen to paper on the deal at Melwood.

Moments after signing the contract, Suso told Liverpoolfc.com: "I am really happy. Liverpool are one of the biggest clubs in the world and this is the right place for me.

"I am happy Brendan has shown trust in me. I had no questions about signing a new deal and I am really glad to have done so.

"I am comfortable here. I have played some games for the first team and I hope to continue doing that, but I need to work hard every day for that to happen.

"This is one of the best days of my life."

Suso joined Liverpool from hometown club Cadiz in 2010.

The Spaniard impressed at both youth and reserve-team levels before being handed his senior debut in the Europa League victory over Young Boys in September.

He has since gone on to make four more appearances for the first team, winning plenty of praise for his mature displays in the process.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said: "We are all delighted Suso has committed his long-term future to Liverpool Football Club.

"At 18, he has demonstrated outstanding technical qualities but also shown very good temperament to play for such a prestigious club.

"His commitment is very good news for all our young Academy players and the excellent work taken place by the Academy coaches and staff."

First, I certainly don't want to see him sold. But if he is, I don't see much point in buy back clauses. Unless a player wants to come back, they're a waste of time except for PR value. Concentrate of the biggest possible cut from a sell-on.

When has a "buy-back" clause actually ever been enacted, by anyone?

I thought we just offered to buy Rushie back and they were happy to see him go.

Yes, I think so. A buy back clause isn't worth the bother:

US: We'd like to activate our buy back clause, please.
CLUB: Fair enough. You're free to talk to the player.
US: We'd like to buy you back.
PLAYER: Thanks but no thanks. Now, I have Real Madrid on the other phone. Byee!

It should be a pretty simple process.

Suso, you're 20 & we very much see you being a long term part of this team, but we feel right now it's very important for your long term development that you play regular football.

We want to send you on loan for a season and also give you a pay rise.

Remember when Madrid didn't exercise the option to buy Mallorca out of their share for Eto'o?
Eto'o then moved to Barca and ripped it up for a few season with a few major trophies.
