Super Harvey Elliott

Yah he’s still a kid. Raw material is there for sure. Amazing to think just what his ceiling could be

Absolutely this.

A future progressive midfield for us looks like Badger-Tits, Carvalho & Harvey.

It’s not going to work please those that want to see more powerful, physical players in there.

Under Klopp, we're not going to win another league title with his style of play, with these sort of midfielders.

He's a trier and has a great attitude, but ultimately I don't think the kid will be good enough. Not as a regular starter anyway.

Might sound harsh and a lot of people won't like it but I'm more leaning towards this than him becoming a superstar for us unless we see a drastic change 2nd half of the season....that needs to start with him being more adventurous and taking a lot more risks.

What's the end goal?

A Schweinsteiger-like #8. He will not put up huge goal-scoring numbers as a winger/AM, but his decision-making and short passing game is world-class. And he works hard on the defensive end; just needs to bulk up.

Potential future LFC midfield:

—-Elliott/Caicedo—Trent—- (or inverted)
————-—-Bajcetic———

Gonna post this on this thread cos it doesn't deserve to be drowned out in the match thread. 😀

Have to admit - since he has been tracking back, and chasing in our defensive areas - he has me supporting him, and these goals will make his claim to a first team place more essential. I feel he brings the aggression to that right side, that Salah lacks in his game.

You're missing Bellingham ... for Trent.

He's 19 FFS. Most 19 yr olds aren't even close to the first team.

Not really true that though is it? I mean just look in recent years with the other British lads alone.

Jude was a regular at 16/17.
Foden was a regular at 18
Sterling was a regular for us at 17.
Trent at 18.
Rice a regular at 18.
Sancho at 17/18.
Rashford at 17.

Your teenage years are arguably the most valuable as it will usually tell how good you can be from those years.

Well done you listed 7. Now list the other 500 that didn't make the team until 20-22. Exceptions don't set the rule.

Listed 7 as an example......

Obviously not going to waste my time naming more on either side of the spectrum but to say most don't get in the first team squad at 19 is baseless.

& since you're the 1 that made the false argument, it's only fair you list them?

You won’t be wasting your time as you won’t find too many more geniuses. Go ahead.

Lol. So you think professional footballers just hang about at reserve level until they're in their 20s?

Just look at any young player today and look back when they first made the cut.

Moukoko 15
Pedri 16
Gavi 17
Ferran Torres 17
Leao 18
J.David 18
Vini Jr 18
Rodrygo 18
Nkunku 18
Werner 17

There's another 10 for you off the top my head.

This is idiotic. Elliott started last season as a regular, the only thing that disrupted that was injury, or he'd have been a regular at 18. You're chatting bollocks.

That's making debut though? Jack Robinson made his debut at 16 and where the fucks he? Jordan rossiter still patrolling our midfield?

Harvey's work rate, combined with his ability and intelligence means he'll make it. Hell, he's already a season behind on his development due to the injury last year. The lads scary potential

Mark, I have no idea what you're responding to....

I was arguing Frog's point that most 19 year olds aren't in the first team picture....which was completely baseless.

Making their debuts as well as being regulars, yes. Some quickly earned bigger moves and were regulars there at 18/19.

I wouldn't throw "scary potential" about, for me those only go to the Haaland's and Mbappe's of this world. Mbappe at Monaco had scary potential, Haaland at Salzburg had scary potential. (another 2 you can add to the list who were 19 or younger)

No. No-one can prove a negative, so expecting someone to do so makes no sense. Only someone making a positive statement can be asked to prove it, and the bolded bit shows that you're saying most do get in the first team squad at 19, so that someone is you.
