Summer transfer links

Captain at the age of 24 (plus the way he managed to get back to Lyon despite being released as a youth player), bouncing back after a serious ruptured knee ligament injury in 15/16, versatile, skillful, pacy. Hopefully our reported interest in him is genuine.

Keita is done
Rumours of Butland, Fekir

Will be a very interesting summer. The transfer window opens on Thursday.

All of my inlaws are newcastle fans, and my bro in law is a professional goalkeeper in Austria, and they are all raving about their GK they've got on loan and can't believe they've got him him. Dubravka on loan from Sparta.Could be worth a punt.

Yep, thats a great shout. Appaz they can sign him for a fee of 5 mill £. Easily better than Butland.

Wait, the transfer window opens on Thursday? That means that if the Fekir rumours are advanced as the rumours have us believe, we could sign him by the end of the week?! Incredible.

Seasons not even over yet!

Can't officially register until July 1st I think. You can sign for a team though.

Liverpool Echo:

JP: “I think we’ll see Klopp strengthen the spine of the team.

“He has already stated that he will be in the market for an attacker as he needs to replace Coutinho.

“Clearly, with Can expected to leave and Oxlade-Chamberlain missing the start of next season he needs more than Keita in terms of midfield arrivals.

“Defensively, I’d say he still needs another centre-back and he has a big decision to make in terms of the keepers. Does he stick with Loris Karius or spend big on a new No 1?

“I can’t see Simon Mignolet staying around as back-up so recruiting another keeper will be on the agenda regardless.”

He also said more in regards to the goalkeeping situation

“I think it’s a tough one for Klopp. In general Karius has done really well since January and has proved he’s a much better keeper than the one who struggled badly last season.

“But is Karius in the same bracket as De Gea or Courtois? No. Can he make the leap up to that level given more time? I’m not sure.

“Liverpool like Alisson at Roma but there’s a feeling that trying to negotiate that deal would be problematic due to the sky-high asking price.

“Whether to spend big on a new No.1 or bring someone in to compete with Karius is one of the biggest decisions facing Klopp this summer.”

Fekir looks tailor made for us. I really hope that happens.

I imagine a few deals could be done quickly. We won't want to wait around until the WC has started / finished.

Fekir, Keita, a top CB and at least one more CM. And a keeper. If we’re in dreamland Oblak if we’re not Pope. £200 m should cover that.

You have met our owners right? Only way we spend that is if Salah or Bobby goes

I'm hoping that's not the case.

We gambled last summer (still feels reckless in my opinion) and the one before that... if we have any real ambitions for this team, we need to go big this summer.

That doesn't mean we have to go out and buy superstars or 100M goalkeepers but there is a lot of work to be done to ensure that we have enough quality in the first team and squad.

I don't believe that mate. We've lots of credit in the account, and I expect us to hit it this year. If we don't, expect a majorly arched eyebrow from this poster. Ming will go, a few of the boys who don't look like stepping up will go, Sturridge, Origi etc. I think, even if we look at FSG cynically, they've signed the biggest cheques we've ever seen- it just so happens that we've made some serious profits simultaneously, and we have a manager who gives his squad every chance before making a signing.

I like to believe that FSG are really astute and have just been waiting for the right moment to splash a shit load of cash. With successive CL qualifications and the European Cup in the bag in 2 weeks, this summer is set up for the big spend to take us the next step to winning the league ... they know it, and they will fund it.

I'd really like to believe that

Regarding the previous link with a loan move for the Barca CB Yerry Mina; I saw the last 10 minutes of Barca's extraordinary 5-4 defeat to Levantes at the weekend (despite a Coutinho hattrick) and the commentator mentioned Mina in particular had had a nightmare game. He also mentioned that Barca (undefeated all season in the league until Sunday) had not won a game in which Mina played! They didn't actually mention how many games he played for them but still hardly a ringing endorsement.

a few rumours of Donnarumma going about.... If we were to splash big on a keeper I'd deffo go for this kid, he could be our keeper for the next 15 years.

That last bit means fuck all. The same thing happened to Bale at Spurs and how did that turn out?

I have never heard of this guy but judging a player by his team's results is a pretty absurd way of doing it.

I used to be high on him ... but not so much ... I don't think he'll be as good as I thought he'd be now - inconsistent on easy saves (Ming like) and not dominating in the box despite his size.
