Summer transfer links

Klopp has SAID that we still have the coutinho money if he needs it. So there's no reason why we can't spend over 150m if needed this summer.

Bernd Leno according to the Express is on shortlist of GK to replace Petr Cech, they're reporting he has a £17.5m buyout clause . I don't know anything about him but is that some one we should be interested in if he his going to cost less than £30m?

If City can accommodate Aguero, Jesus, Sterling, Sané, Bernardo Silva, David Silva and DeBruyne (I think that's all their attacking talent) then we need to rival that strength in depth if we 're gonna challenge for the title.

Firmino, Salah, Mané, Lallana, Fekir, Keita, Ox-Chamberlain (and maybe Harry Wilson).............I think our 6 (or 7) attacking players would give us enough firepower to challenge for the title.

Though we certainly do need some additional depth in the middle and up front, we still have a far, far more pressing need for better defenders... We really need another top CB beside VVD, at least. Ideally, with a better keeper behind them too. If another top CB is brought in, then the need at keeper is lessened, but we need one of these two positions drastically strengthened. If we do nothing at the back, we'll remain a decent cup team in Europe and 3rd or 4th best at home.

We don't need too much help up front to make us challengers. We need LOTS of help at the back to do it.

Fuck signing a keeper or defenders!!!!

Let’s sign more sexy creative goal scoring types and just fucking enjoy it.
We need a defender who is as cool headed as VVD to add as i think Matip is too injury prone. We also need someone to eventually replace Milner...the midfielders need to add upto 6 split 3 attacking and 3 working. Grujic should be in the frame now ... he is intimidating and tall .. ours is too small at the moment.

Defo 2 additional front men to cover the trio.

Looks like we have snapped up Isaac Christie-Davies from Chelsea. Came on trial back in March.

[article]Liverpool are set to sign Chelsea midfielder Isaac Christie-Davies on a free transfer after he was released by the Londoners, sources close to the Anfield club have told ESPN FC.

Christie-Davies, 20, was not offered a new deal by Chelsea, with his current terms expiring in the summer, and several clubs have been monitoring his situation.

Liverpool took Christie-Davies on trial in March and it appears he has done enough to win a move to Anfield.

He joined Chelsea's academy from Brighton and progressed from the youth ranks to the under-23s, winning the FA Youth Cup in 2015 and 2016 and the UEFA Youth League in 2016.

Christie-Davies is likely to link up with Liverpool's under-23s next season, following former Chelsea teammate Dominic Solanke in leaving Stamford Bridge for Merseyside.[/article]

We don’t need to add 6 midfielders.

We have Milner, Henderson, Keita, Gini, Ox & Lallana.

I’d be surprised if we added more than 2 and in all likelihood only 1 - that’s even before we consider Can or Gruijic.

Same for upfront - be surprised if we sign more that one to rotate with the front 3 - depending on the Ings, Solanke & Brewster situations.

I reckon all up - 3 new faces and that’s it - other than any youths that come in.

No did not mean that... i said we need 6 at all times...we getting keita but can going but also ox injured so i say use grujic but we also need an understudy to milner who is getting older. I think against the likes of united we meed some physicality in midfield.

Meyer is available (on a free) and just as versatile as Milner. If it is true that Klopp is interested in Ousmane Dembele (and it's not smoke and mirrors) then that's £100m gone there unless it's a loan and I guess the loan fee would be close to £20m (on the basis that Origi cost £6m and Sturridge was £3m for half a season).
Arsenal are in talks to sign Bernd Leno, it's something we can hijack. I have no idea how good he is but he is in the German national squad which indicates he is at the very least better than Karius.
I know he is 33 but Giorgio Chiellini for couple of seasons is not a bad idea, the guy is such an intelligent cool headed defender.

Meyer would be brilliant, but he's meant to be a nutter, so might not be klopps cup of tea

Heard mixed reviews on Leno this year.

Dembele is meant to be a loan. Quite why when we're supposedly after pulisic and fekir I don't really know

Karius was voted 2nd best GK in the BL (behind Neuer of course) so there's no form to follow just because Bernd Leno has made the German WC squad.

Hopefully he can make the same sort of impact as Solanke

Has Dembele been really bad for Barca? they paid a huge whack for him when they didnt get coutinho. Has he played much since?

He's scored 3 goals. Hasn't played much, really.

I couldn't quite believe it when Barca paid £100m or whatever it was for him, because he'd done fuck all in Germany either. Six league goals in his only season at Dortmund.
They must have been pissing themselves with laughter.

He did have a serious injury but has been mainly fit for a few months now and they don't really use him, I don't think Valverde really trusts him/likes him. He's started to use Coutinho more now but not him. I've watched Barca play maybe 10 games this season, with maybe him involved in about half of those, and he's not looked all that great, not awful, but he's not looking a 100-150mill player at the moment, or any glimpses that he's going to be. He really needs a run of games starting to see what he's about, but there currently seems no chance of Valverde giving them to him. Might change next season when Iniesta goes, and Valverde potentially drops Countinho into midfield and frees up a forward place for him, which may piss Countinho - but that's what he's been bought for, to go into Iniesta's role.

There was talk during the season of interest in Doucoure. I'd take him 100%- every midfielder we're thinking about is about 3 foot tall. He's like a Momo who can pass and score:

You talked me round to this guy a few months back, but has he gone off the boil?

I've not heard his name mentioned for ages

No, I think he has been doing his thing. Was Watford’s player of the season and if you check out a Watford forum they worship him and have no faith whatsoever that they can hang on to him.

There's an in-depth look at him by WhoScored last month here:

Silva could move to sign him if he does go to Everton.

Today Gazzeto runs a farewell to Juve for Buffon. In a 4 pace article they also link him to continue career abroad with one of 3 European greats. Liverpool, Real or PSG. Probably pure speculation, but no fire without smoke?

You know if he were to come here, that his name would be adapted to Buffoon after his first minor mistake
