Am I right in thinking that Hector was the left full in the Bundeslegia team of the season?

Hector would be a massive upgrade on Moreno. We need to try tie up a deal for him before his price goes up after the euros

Oostende's Jordan Lukaku speaks of passion for Arsenal, Premier League

ESPN FC's Brian McBride rates the latest rumours surrounding Alexis Sanchez and Raphael Varane.
KV Oostende left-back Jordan Lukaku has spoken of his fondness for Arsenal and believes he is suited to a Premier League move.
Lukaku, the younger brother of Everton striker Romelu, has caught the eye this season, impressing for his club in the Belgian top flight while also winning his first caps for Belgium's national team.
Arsenal, along with Chelsea ,Tottenham and AC Milan, have all been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old, while a source close to Oostende told ESPN FC this week that Watford are keeping tabs on him.
Lukaku has suggested that his dream move would see him head to North London to link up with the Gunners.
"Do I see myself as Premier League-bound?" Lukaku told The Set Pieces. "I don't know, but it's a league that would suit me. I have always been a fan of Arsenal, but I am mad about every Premier League club as long as the club doesn't have to fight against relegation."
While Lukaku is a fan of Arsenal, he feels they need to spend more money in the future if they want to be successful.
"Arsenal has to go out and spend," Lukaku said. "Arsenal has become a youth academy for other top clubs. When [Cesc] Fabregas became top, he moved to Barcelona. When [Robin] van Persie became top and single-handedly guided Arsenal to a top-four finish, he moved to Manchester United. He had begged for reinforcements. Same case with Samir Nasri. He asked for a bigger salary. Arsenal have to be less stingy."

As well as keeping track with how Arsenal fare in the Premier League, Lukaku also keeps an eye on his brother Romelu's progress at Everton.
The Toffees have had a disappointing season, currently sitting 12th in the table, but Romelu has still managed an impressive 18 league goals.
"He has bettered his personal goalscoring record in England and that's nice for a young striker who is playing in a team ranked 12th," Lukaku said. "He has become more adept with his back to goal. He varies his game more. He can drop deeper and demand the ball. He is better in possession and in combinations."
Romelu, who has spoken of wanting to link up with Jordan at club level, has often been criticised in the Belgian media for failing to reproduce his Everton form while on international duty with Belgium.
His younger brother, however, feels that is down to the tactics of the national team.
"The Red Devils don't have a set system," Lukaku said. "Plenty of one-touch combinations, but no acceleration within the game. What do the Red Devils like to do? [Eden] Hazard, [Dries] Mertens and [Kevin] De Bruyne seek out a double pass so they can cut inside and shoot. You can even do without a striker if you play that way.
"If you play with Romelu -- and that goes for any striker in the national team -- you need to feed him more, cross more and pass deep more. You can't just use the strikers to combine. In the last game against Portugal, Romelu showed he has become better with his back to goal."

Well, he's obviously an improvement on Moreno. I really hope we sign him.

I'd also love it if we'd sign Jonathan Tah, Leverkusen's CB.

Liverpool have made 20 year-old Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah a target this summer. The players agent was in Basel last night to watch the Reds suffer a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sevilla in the Europa League final.
Jonathan Tah is a tall imposing central defender who’s extremely strong and powerful in the air. Tah reads the game very well. His large physique coupled with good pace would make him ideal for the English Premier League. Liverpool have heavily scouted The German, including when playing against Villarreal.
Bayer Leverkusen paid a fee believed to be approximately €10 million to Hamburg for Tah and would expect to nearly double their money to be expected to deal again so soon after buying. The central defender has performed particularly well when playing against Bayern Munich and Robert Lewandowski.
The former Hamburg man made his full international debut for Germany when coming on for Mats Hummels at half time in a 3-2 loss to England in a friendly in March.
Liverpool’s frailties in defence have been evident all season and the defeat to Sevilla again reinforced their need to tighten up at the back. With Mamadou Sakho facing a long term ban and the futures of Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel seemingly elsewhere, the Merseysiders will look to add to the already secured Joel Matip.
Liverpool are also pursuing young Leicester City left back Ben Chilwell and hope to beat off competition from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

Liverpool transfer news and rumours: Reds to battle Manchester United for Portuguese starlet?

Silva has had another impressive season for Braga
Liverpool are determined to beat Manchester United to the signing of Braga midfielder Rafa Silva.
Silva scored eight goals for the Portuguese side this term and has caught the eye of Liverpool scouts.
He has a £15.4m release clause and Liverpool have approached Braga and agent Jorge Mendes, according to Portuguese outlet ZeroZero.
Mendes' company only owns 50 percent of Silva's economic rights but his links to Jose Mourinho - and a possible switch to Old Trafford - could affect the deal.
Silva has made no secret of his desire to move to the Premier League and a summer move could be on the cards.

Hector is really highly rated. Signing Karius (to challenge flappy Ming), Gotze (winner mentality and experiences under his belt) and Hector (well, anyone but Moreno) before the Euros start would be an immense start at rebuilding the team.

INCOMPLETE BINNY ALERT! What's that stuff about Balotelli, and which youngster is edging closer to the exit?

Apparently we've made an offer for Jonathan Tah, a highly rated CB at Leverkusen. Guess that means the end for Sakho there.

I'd fucking LOVE to see a top class centre back at anfield again.

It's been far too long since we saw Sami at his imperious best, & there's been none to challenge him since.

Saw a poster on Facebook based on a quote from Klopp about how people will look back on Basel and say it was the start of something big for LFC.

Am I over-interpreting that, or does it give anyone else the impression that this summer's clearout is going to be very far-reaching indeed?

If we sign Tah, we'll have 2 CBs who are 6"4 but also have a bit of pace. Add Karius and that could be a good start of building a proper defence.

I can see Lovren playing quite a bit next season.

Jonas Hector, who I'd love to sign, is 6"1. At least our defence wont be bullied by physical strenght and size anymore.

I think it's over-interpreting. There will be a new GK, LB, CB and AM, certainly, but I'm not sure there's going to be a gigantic clear-out from the first XI that started the game.

Fair enough, but what then did Klopp have in mind when he said that?

It could mean anything. There's no doubt we're going to see at least 4-5 new players this summer, but it could also be about how that defeat made us understand what it means to win, or some such bollocks.

Barca are listening to offer for Turan, I recall he said something positive about LFC once.

I would love to see him at LFC- showed the kinda of winning never say die mentality that we seem to lack at times.

GREAT SHOUT - but I think he'd have the same issue as he had with Barca. He doesn't really fit into the formation the managers seemingly prefer. That being said, he's a great player to have on your team.
