Yup. I do think klopp just looks at the numbers, sees the best in everyone and hopes for the best and thats it. It was only when we got a few injuries before the window SLAMMED shut that we decided to get melo.

He's a stubborn fucker
Exactly. I'm hoping the new Sports director can make the tough decisions Klopp doesn't want to make.

A guy who’s only walked in the door won’t be able to authorise anything over someone who’s been here for 8 years and overseen everything, sure he may have the name “director” in his title role but Klopp is the main man at Liverpool…..the final say goes through him.

So what's the point of getting one?

I’m not saying he won’t have his responsibilities but playing down this assumption he’ll be able to take decisions out of Klopp’s hands without first consulting.

I’m led believe they both have a good working relationship/understanding and Klopp even player his part in hand picking him so I don’t foreseen any issues.

You both could be right, I mean Klopp is the top dog. But we're not in a position where we can let £40-50 mill players go for free regularly.

Given our midfield issues being completely exposed this season and the potential shift to a box midfield next season, we’d need at least 6 bona fide starting class midfielders going into this season to allow for injuries, rotation and space for other rotational / young players.

Right now we have Mac Allister and Trent (and maybe Thiago but it’s arguable how well suited he is to the new system) and the rest (Fabs / Hendo / Badger / Elliott etc) have big question marks over them. We need more and to lose those in obvious decline.

Do we have to rotate that much in the league anyway? The Europa league group games will be the games were we rotate.

Our midfield options now kinda remind me back to the 1 we had in 2000, not the best ability wise.....few past it and few just can't overcome their injuries.

Fab is Didi
Milner is Mcallister
Hendo is Murphy
Melo is Igor
Naby is Smicer
Ox is Redknapp (I mean no disrespect Jamie)
& Thiago is Gerrard (I mean no disrespect Stevie)

The Grav playing now against the Portuguese at the u21 championship.....

It's been all Dutch so far.

Don't get why they're playing is such massive stadiums.....yet it's about 20% full.

What have I missed , why are we all assuming there will be no more signings ?
Do you see something anywhere that's convincing we are soon making more signings? The media linkages to various players will always be there but nothing is showing we are close to any real deal. No reports for any player going through medicals or any of those announcements.

Klopp would fire him up 😉

He's done some good stuff today, won the ball back there and drew a foul within shooting distance....uses his body to shield the ball well.

That last pass to the right by Grav was good
Yep, it was. See something like that, if Trent was there instead of that guy....results in an assist
😉

Just switched over to the Georgia Belgium game, there's about 5x more supporters in the stadium then there was the Portugal Netherlands, crazy....some of these Georgians look like ballers....they've even got a 17 year old on the bench who has a senior cap to his name.

I cannot get excited by them unfortunately, but those Georgians and Ukranians - tend to be ballers very technically skilled players, so it always surprises me how they always don't ever do well in any international tournaments. But honestly there is no point looking at Ballers too much - Klopp does not like them that much, he prefers them to chase after the ball, keep it and do nothing with it, and then pass it sideways or long ball it to the front three. If they try and do anything with it (good or bad), Klopp may never pick them for the next game.

Gabi Veiga wat......nope nvm.

I suppose Celta can't value him higher than his release clause if he's not starting games.

Slow news since Friday, some lazy reports of us being in for Osimhen.

I think it'll be Thuram/Gravenburch + Van de Ven and that'll be that.

I think it'll just be a mid, and then we'll hold out for that one super special CB and accept no substitute. Meaning we don't sign one for 2 years

Tchoumeni, Barella, Victor the Nigerian who plays for Napoli, and now back to Lavia
Wtaching the u21s, th eplayer who has impressed me most is Ramsey then Kone

Can't shake the feeling that Kone and Thuram are the duo we should be after. Lavia would cost too much unless there's a secret release clause no one knows about.

Despite recent speculation, Juventus winger Federico Chiesa will not join Liverpool this summer.

Here we goooooo!!

Tired of finding BS sources of players to link us with, they wanna go out their way to name the players who we won't sign.

Classic journalism.
