Still not sure about the defensive stability in midfield for the CB's here.

Get Thiago out and shift Thuram there and then hopefully a 3rd midfield signing (Veiga would be ideal) can take Thuram's spot or stick with Jones if not.

I’m not sure we’ll see that to be honest - we’ll, not consistently.

Number of things :
1. I think Klopp will do as he has been doing and have us set up like that “a bit”, but revert to a more traditional 433 out of possession, with Trent at RB.

For that we need a LB playing - someone will have to convince me the Dutch guy is a better option than Robbo.

2. Thiago as a DM would be a disaster - we do t need two deep lying playmakers - we need one and it’s not Thiago.

3. Back to Robbo - while he may be required to focus more on defensive priorities, I wouldn’t be so quick to dispense with his attacking abilities.

He offers overlapping and crossing options on the left - meaning if he does go forward, someone either needs to drop in between the CB’s or cover behind him (Fabs not Thiago king of works).

Additionally it give Mac Allister freedom to move inside more centrally, rather than just being the left overlapper.

The right will be different, with Trent not overlapping nearly as much, meaning Thuram needs to provide the overlap for Mo, otherwise every week we’ll have new threads about how Mo has lost it and keeps running into 3 opposing defenders and losing the ball.

It’s all about variations and intelligent players finding space out wide or in between the lines and knowing each others position and movements.

That comes with time and people playing together consistently - which is why Klopp doesn’t like swapping half his team every year, injuries to key players hurt us move than they should, and normally, new players are giving “some time” to bed in and learn the patterns of play.

I’d hope there’s some data logic that determines why we go for certain types of players based on footballing intelligence, spatial awareness and quick decision making that illustrates why we don’t sign certain players and are very selective.

Arda Güler (Fenerbahçe)

Liverpool is among the clubs to have had 'direct contact' with the father of 18-year-old Fenerbahçe wonderkid Arda Güler, according to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who works for Sports Digitale.
The Reds are not the only ones to have taken a look at the attacking midfield playmaker, however, with PSG, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, RB Leipzig and Benfica also named as possible destinations — not a bad list when it comes to smart recruitment.
Liverpool.com says: This is not the kind of move that should be a priority for Liverpool, but it would be a nice bonus. With a low release clause of just $19m (£15m/€17.5m), he would certainly be attainable but it appears that there is plenty of competition.

If we don’t do it him soon it’s only going to Arda and Arda to sign him..

Where's all the assists that Robertson has provided going to come from?

This was a player we were happy to tell everyone was the best LB in the world recently. Now we don't need him for a player I've never heard of.

Right.

AlexiMac? Gakpo? Diaz? Salah? Trent? Nunez? Jota got a fair few as well last season.

We have many players capable of providing assists, Robbo won't be going anywhere either, he can easily come on for 20-30 mins and provide an assist too? But he didn't have the best season and perhaps it's time we start to faze him out.

15m euros for Alan Varela?? Bring him home!!!

No argies at the club for 10 years and all a sudden 2 come along at once.

Veiga, alongside Thuram and another CB i'll be happy.

Otherwise, i don't see the point in the veiga signing, other than Gakpos understudy
