Given how much we wanted him (and he us by all reports) we wouldn't have pulled out just for £2 mill. The bill must have included the £20 mill.plus in add-ons that it seems Real are being charged.
The truth will be somewhere in the middle. It'll be closer to €120m plus add ons.
Spanish media have a history of low balling the actual fee. Remember Coutinho? They claimed they got him for about £100m all in.
I still think we are dicks for not getting him.

I wanted Bellingham but I can understand why we move on. The fee is one thing but add his salary and that his agent/dad wanted silly money as well.
Adding Tielemans doesnt help us much imho.

I think we’ll get 3 of them and with all the players leaving, our squad will be even thinner than last season.

yea that’s fine, we have two older players who were absolutely shite this season and an injured child with a handful of first team games to his name
back to last summers thinking so soon, sounds money related as usual
I know the owners on a lot of criticism but not sure last summer’s middle was entirely down to money. So also was Klopp’s thinking that we had enough players, especially midfield, to continue playing like we had done the season previous. He doesn’t seemingly like big squads.
