Summer rebuild 2023

I'll remind you what Djed Spence went for. This kid has better stats than Spence. Besides, I want him to have his chance and send the other kid Ramsey out on loan. If he is good enough, the club has saved millions. If Jurrian Timber does come in, it will be as a inverted full-back
Djed Spence played every game as he helped Forest get promotion to the Prem......A bit like we managed to get a decent fee for Neco......mainly because he helped Fulham get promotion to the Prem.

Bradley wouldn't command that right now.

Bascombe's written a piece to say we're after at least 4 players - 3 midfielders and a defender - but I could see the argument for signing at least 6. The three midfielders is obvious, then we need a player similar to Trent who can step into midfield (Timber?), a LCB/LB hybrid, and a RCB who can cover for Konate.

Any word on where Kudus goes?
I would have like him at LFC, but I guess that train went with Gakpo coming in?

Kudus want always a false 9 I think. He would thrive in the LCM position. Maybe even the 8.

I've always seen Kudus as more of a AM/part of a forward 3 than playing in 1 of the midfield positions.

I think going after Macallister would mean no Kudus personally as I can't see a midfield 3 of Fab/Hendo/Thiago, Kudus and Macallister and I don't think we'll sign a forward this summer....almost certain of it actually.

Klopp took a dig at the numbers of players Chelsea signed saying when you buy 5--6--7--8 players it becomes very hard to integrate all the players. From Kopp's stand point, the more players that are bought in, the more man hours required to integrate them.

Barcelona have reached an agreement with agent Jorge Mendes for Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves, 26, with the Portugal international likely to move to the Nou Camp as part of a swap deal with 20-year-old Spain forward Ansu Fati. (Sport - in Spanish)

he got quite little playing time this year no? not healthy? or not as good as they thought ?

TBh i think they're swapping or selling whoever they can to try and get the band back together. They want messi and neymar. Youth be damned, as there's probably another 5 Fati's in La Masia.

Injured, he's undoubtably one of the hottest young players in world football.

He absolutely is, but he had a fair few decent length injuries now; perhaps they should do what we never do and sell before it's overly apparent they're a crock

He's 20, plenty of time to overcome these injuries....too good a talent to let go.

Fati has been poor this season not helped by a stop-start season due to injury. Barca are getting someone who is£200k a week off their books and getting a player who can replace Busquets who'd probably happy to take £100k a week.

He's 20, plenty of time to overcome these injuries....too good a talent to let go.

It depends on the injuries really. If they can be attirbuted to growing issues etc, then by all means. He's had a few knee injuries though. Knees and ankles are always a worry if they have a big injury and they're a quick/tricky player.

Please let Barca decide that in order to get the band back together they need to give us Gavi + cash + the Coutinho money they owe us to get Thiago back to his spiritual home.

Then next season they can sign Nunez for £200m+

Not that I care, but Wolves is taking the much bigger risk....

Is Kudus actually any good - I know he scored a cracker against us, but is actually good - I’m sure I read somewhere a few people claiming he wasn’t as good as the hype.

He seems like someone who in theory could do well on the RCM

Yea good player with potential to be great, not all that similar to Gakpo but in terms of age, value right now, future potential, league they played and showing their promise on the World Cup stage.

On the half turn he’s a joy to watch, has the skill and the turn of pace in final third to beat a man.

Any word on where Kudus goes?

Kudus or XavI Simons, they're about the same price. One has a better record than the other but the other is way more physically built and explosive.
I think this kid would be a good squad signing for a top club or 1st teamer for mid table club
I just like his level of intelligence, very much Ali Mac-esk

Jurgen Klopp confirms Arthur Melo exit: “I would like to wish the best to Arthur as his loan period comes to an end — his professionalism and ability were clear to all who worked with him”. #LFC Arthur will leave Juventus this summer — he will be available on the market.

Kudus has passed the eye test for me a couple of times.
Stats back it up. Not sure where he would fit now though.
I suppose that elusive bob-box MF who carry the ball 60 yards.

Timbers---Konate--- VVD
----------Fabs----CDM------
Trent---------Kuddus-------------Ali Mac

-------------Salah--------Nunez------
