Summer rebuild 2023

So, at least we're being linked to a midfielder...?

Trent, VVD, and Fabs will all be here next year, and I think we owe them one more year. Getting new players in could just turn our squad back to title contenders. We just have to look at Arsenal and see with just a couple of signings their squad looks different from last season. Man U's revival is down the stability in MF with the introduction of Casimero.
However, Klopp does need to get around 5 players, with 3-4 in MF.

Sure, but none of them should be Ben Woodburn.

Why are folks continuously comparing us to look at Arsenal. They spent like three times we have had on transfers in the last five years. They are also "lucky" in the sense that City are having an off year. If the one team we should compare ourselves too, is the LFC transfer committee of 2016-2019. See if we can replicate that.

Gonna sound like a broken record but we wasted windows after windows to try and freshen up the squad. It was obvious from the profile of the squad during our successful period that progressive work needed to be done or we risk crumbling. Instead of refreshing and reinforcing, we now have to rebuild - a difficult task made even more challenging with increased competition in the league.

Because Arteta has molded his team on us

Same as before, we need 2 midfielders who are starter, and one young center back who can push and then later take over from Virgil.

A back up right back would also be grand, unless Ramsay is revived.

I agree. The most galling thing about us is not only did we not take our chances to improve but we failed to take the our chances of building a dynasty.

We had everything in place.

Excellent transfer committee [emoji736]
Excellent manager [emoji736]
Excellent 1st team [emoji736]
Excellent medical team [emoji736]

All we had to do was invest in the 1st team a midfield and the squad in general and we would have been set to have a once in a lifetime chance of a dynasty let alone competitive once in a while title challenging team.

Now it feels like we are somewhere between the state we were in when Klopp first took over and the peak best selves which will take much more work and surgery.

Gotta love April fools.

Sell the current starting 11, buy a new starting 11.
At the same time give Milner a new contract.

We gotta break out of this cycle and get real.
For me focus on buying a new starting a CB, 2 CMs and starting LB.
Buy viable backups for another CM and RB.

Sell Jota, Tsmikas and Jones to fund what it can.
Give one more year at least for Virgil, Hendo and possibly Salah based on other strikers able to step up.

I'll give the front 5 a go.

All our midfielders will be up for sale. But with Ox and Keita gone, we need 2 more MF instead. We need 2 new starting midfielders next season. I will certainly sell 1 more midfielder if we managed to get 2 in.

In defence I will put Gomez up for sale since he has the highest value.

I will sell Kelleher just to get some funds in.

Ideally, Kelleher, Gomez, Jones/Elliott will be sold. We will get the most funds from them.

Then we get in 2 CM and 1 CB, all 3 should be first teamers.

Went down to 30m after yesterday, we'd really be lucky to get over 10m in the summer the way he's going.
Stop blowing things out of proportion.
I said at the beginning of the summer window we'd struggle without MFs, and I was proven to be right but I wasn't the only one saying it, the other members of the so called "Loons" were as well.
If we're being realistic, the likes of Gomez and CJ will still be here unless they ask to leave.
We get 4-5 players we will be in the mix.

Player has been very open about the fact that he is a Liverpool fan and stated it would be cool to play for us. I have no clue how good he is but I so want this to happen, so that we can get @Kay Age El posting here regularly.
