Meanwhile for us… the revenue from selling players looks increasingly like it’s covering the majority cost of the players we’ve bought and the saving on wages from selling and releasing high earners is starting to look suspiciously like the it’s balancing out the shortfall in revenue from not being in the Champions League.
That all leads back to our self-sustaining model and not ramping up debt - particularly when the transfer market is going nuts.
I’m sure there’s a bit of wiggle room to bring a player in - but I reckon there’s an increasing chance we’re looking at predominantly loan deals.

We’re currently 110 mill on signings and 0 on incomings.
The Lavia deal will be covered by Fabinho I guess.
But we’ll end up spending 100-150 mill net this summer.
How are we on £110m on signings?
We’re on £95m spend with an expected further spend of £35-50m (Lavia) with an expected income of £65m (Fabs, Hendo, Nat and the kids we’ve sold).
It’s more likely we’ll get an additional £25-£30m from selling Irish Kevin & Thiago than spending on new players.
We most certainly aren’t going to have a net spend of £110-£150m.
