The Diaz rumour originated from Portugal.

Duncan Castles on the piss up I see, linking Diaz to Al Hilal.
Nunez doesn't need to start regularly, he'll still be getting 30 goals next season...whether that's from 1000 minutes, 2000 or 3000.Selling Diaz might be the only way Nunez gets to start regularly!!!!

Remember I told you this Stevie, I'll be insisting on that apology.
I recall a few years ago, the Chinese league was paying obscene amounts of money. Prime level players such as Oscar, Ramirez from Chelsea for example went there. It eventually folded. This Saudi League does look a different beast, I’ll admit but it can only attract so many players. And then what?
Sustainability— the CCP pulled the plug on the Chinese League. Saudis are unlikely to do that— at least that’s my view.
The EU do it to protect home grown industries from unfair overseas competition. I guess they could do something similar.Other leagues don’t do that to players moving to the EU— so no idea what their justification would be.
I'm wondering if there's something the EU can do to pull the plug on players playing in Europe from going there?
I agree the Saudi's want to build up their brand and change the view of how all sport is viewed from the outsiders point of view (it's never gonna happen but it won't stop them persisting) and they'll carry on chucking money around at whomever whenever.
Not sure how. A player could just buy out of their own contract and could then move where they like, as long as the country they are going to gives them a visa.
The footballing authorities won't do anything either, given that Saudi is a member of FIFA and under no restriction.
Well there must be something FIFA could do then to impose some regulations....isn't this the whole point of having regulator bodies in place, otherwise in essence is our last hope really to get down on our knees and pray the Saudi's come to their senses or that players just flat out refuse to go unless it's for 1 last pay day?
I'm concerned and not concerned at the same time.
Why would FIFA or UEFA care?
Damages their reputation of sporting a game with integrity no?
I'd imagine it also damages their pockets, if we continually see more high profile players moving there...they'll be a lot less viewerships on the Euro's and World Cup which is how they generate their billions, because their attention will be diverted to what the PIF are doing.
Why would they care?
They had a winter WC in Qatar with stadiums built on blood of slave trade brought by bribed Rolexes.
Is this your first rodea?
Literally just told you....same reason they cared when it was announced a ESL would be formed, not sure what them letting Qatar host a WC in December has anything to do with this seeing as all the players would return to their club football in Europe a month later....something they only did because Qatar bidded the highest.
Ok well maybe the reputation aspect would reflect more on UEFA than FIFA.....there was no real reason to refute the Russian bid or have any real aggravation to them hosting the 2018 WC at the time. You mentioned reputation of the game, so there is your answer. They didn’t care when they accepted Russian and Qatar bids 12yrs ago, they certainly won’t care. To them it’s just another league, same as the CL and Russian League built on GazProm.
Fifa will not step in because the SL is not doing anything inheritently wrong and whether you like it or not, the selling clubs in Europe aren’t currently complaining…
Exactly.That’s ridiculous, get involved Jurgen
We’d be selling Salah next summer if Olise arrived.Exactly.
Understudy for Salah
True, but I also believe that we've already scouted a Salah replacement. Just like we scouted Diaz. We’d be selling Salah next summer if Olise arrived.
